Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I agree, but at the same time we all remember that outburst from our captain, suffice to say there might have been more than a few attitudes that weren't what they should have been and there would have been a lot of factors behind it.
Yep. Even Jem had some questionable discipline.
I think when the team doesn't respect the coach that all has an impact.

Nothing like losing game after game to whittle away your self control.

Add the routine press talk of how poor we are. Consistently bad refereeing and VAR calls and I’m not surprised at our lack of discipline to be honest.

But that by no means excuses it.

When shit gets tough, that’s when the most discipline is required.

I keep seeing this comment and if true am ok with not re-signing O'Neill

Coach Alen Stajcic had hoped to retain the youngster for 2019-20 as the Gosford club bid to improve their fortunes after two consecutive wooden spoon seasons.
But reports suggest the Australia U-23 international midfielder, whose current deal with Burnley expires at the end of this month, will re-sign with the Clarets and then be loaned back out to Brisbane.
It's understood several other A-League clubs inquired about O'Neill's services but were put off by the loan fee Burnley were asking, which the Roar have agreed to meet.

Dunno how you can raise his Loan fee, all he did was collect yellows mixed with occasional brilliance

Loan fees are pretty common. I wouldnt expect us to pay one though. Better spending that money directly on wages.

We knew about Jem and O'Neill - both of whom we'd have liked to have kept but knew wasn't happening.

We didn't know about Hoole and Kennedy - both of whom we'd have liked to have let go.

Overall - net win!

With the up coming new four players to be announced I guess we will start to get a picture of where we are headed ... noting the visa players are not being announced yet but we are at least talking about signing some...

We dodged a bullet with Fitzgerald (we already have a lazy git who shat on the club) - Those 2 going helps lift the quality of the gene pool as well
Undoing the damage done by last seasons recruitment debacle will take another 2 windows so we cant expect too much.
Avoiding obvious duds (yes you Fitzgerald) certainly helps - hopefully Majok isnt one of the 4 to be announced

One year deals would be ideal unless we have snagged a good young player cheap that can get in a good preseason and stand tall in the first team.

I have a sinking feeling Oar and McGlinchey will just still be too slow and un-impactful.

Fresh start 20/21 haha.

Well that's an interesting development. If he stays hopefully some time on the bench has given him a bit of perspective. If we weren't expecting him back it'll definitely put a dent in the budget.

The reply to that tweet makes that person look more like a spud given it was well reported that Sydney were 100% trying to keep DDS in some form, whether it be loan or permanent.

But anyway...

Not surprised they pulled out. He was very average last season.
Will be extremely interested to see if he turns up on Monday.
