ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I don't have him pegged as a great player - more as a great player for the club to have - yes - a la Broxham at Victory. He is also has improved out of sight from the beginning of the season.

So can someone please explain how Rowles tackle is the worst ever when Bridge gets up ,then Remarkably doesn`t leave the field, like every other injured player,
Somethings not right there...unless my eyesight failed me again
A player does not have to leave the field after treatment if a card was issued for the foul.
He was treated for rather a long time too.

It’s important to have that kind of player, one that can start but isn’t going to have a tantrum when they don’t, one that’s good value for money and money spent smartly for depth and flexibility. IMO that’s the kind of player that can become a club favourite and enjoy a long successful stay. There was a story not long after he arrived about paying for someone’s petrol or groceries when they got caught short, if he’s a good bloke off the pitch and puts in when we need it you can’t ask for much more than that as a long term club figure.

He's from Northern Ireland.......... he looks dangerous with a milk bottle with a rag hanging out the top.

I do.

And have just slapped myself TB.
City was our first win this year, of course - and I felt confident going into THAT game, because we tend to play well against City. Even in our losses, we're usually just slightly below them.
They should also take it easy this week - they have 6th and reaching 5th is almost impossible (WP need to lose, and MCY would need to regain 7 pts of goal difference). So, they should be protecting the key players, either subbing them early or not playing them at all and hold the ground for the finals.

Nothing game for them, we're playing for pride. Not just pride; a 2nd win here (followed by Staj signing) will actually restore some faith in the fans that something has changed; it will actually SHOW a change, as opposed to pretty words before a new season. And my god, don't we deserve that.
And showing that, I reckon it'll help with recruitment too. I mean, Staj might want to run some of the players who he's undecided about (give them a run, see if they're worth it next season), but I'm hoping he goes for the win.
Finish with another win, make some decent signings, and show all the signs of taking preseason seriously (and make it past the first f**king round of the FFA cup), and our memberships will increase (especially if Dan and his team somehow still have the energy to drive it).

Goddammit, I have a glimmer of hope again.

Dan, is a diamond.
I'm sitting at the back of bay 17 chatting to a friend and i get a tap on the shoulder...."are the seats ok sir?" Funny bugger.
Really he deserves a decent team as much if not more than the rest of us.

My hope is not because we're playing with some new burst of enthusiasm, or we got a win... I think we look the most organised we have since Arnie left and even in our losses you could see it was chalk and cheese.

I’m not sure it’s nothing for them, they haven’t had a good run lately and some confidence wouldn’t hurt them heading in to finals. Losing to us wouldn’t do them any good and would look bad if they then exit finals in week 1. They may also take their chances at dodging victory hoping other results go their way.

City are more dangerous than the last time we played them but their style still suits us better than some other teams regardless of ladder position.

I love his heart and work rate but he simply has to improve his passing and ball retention to be HAL standard. Also, that was the fourth penalty kick he has cost the team this season, so he really needs to work on that aspect of his game also.

Thought his ball retention and passing were the equal of any on the field in that game. He has come a long way since beginning of the season. And what was he supposed to do when the penalty was given ? Stand there and let the guy get a shot off. And to be fair some of the so called penalties that were given against him were very soft, certainly we would never have been given them.

I agree that he has improved from the start of the season but any player getting regular game time should at least do that. I also agree that at least one of the penalty calls (against SFC at Leichardt) was harsh but the others show the naive side of his game, as you simply can’t lunge at an opponent in the box. That’s how he plays elsewhere on the pitch but he just needs to temper it in the box. Don’t think my comments are suggestive of me disliking him, just pointing out some basic flaws in his game.
