Prior to his three-year spell with the Mariners, Jedinak played in south-west Sydney with Sydney United who he joined as junior before going on to captain the first team.
According to the report, Jedinak wishes to become a coach after his playing career is over and the offer would include a pathway to take up a future coaching role with the club.
The defensive midfielder played 79 times for the Socceroos, scoring 20 goals in an international career that included playing at three World Cups.

Mile Jedinak could be playing in the A-League next season with an expansion hopeful having tabled an offer to sign the former Socceroos' captain as a marquee player. Fairfax Media understands the Macarthur-South West Sydney A-League bid have entered negotiations to sign Jedinak as their inaugural captain, should they be admitted into the A-League.
December 12 looms as D-Day for expansion hopefuls when the Football Federation Australia board are set to decide the next two teams to enter the competition and the Campbelltown-based bid is understood to be among the frontrunners to be granted a licence.
Despite being weeks away from learning their fate, the bid is not waiting on the decision before beginning their player recruitment drive. It's understood the bidding team notified the FFA this week of their intention to sign Jedinak in the event they win the race for one of the two A-League licences on offer.
The bidding team is understood to have already initiated talks with Jedinak and his representatives and will seek to sign the defensive midfielder directly from English championship club Aston Villa during the off-season, pending their acceptance into the A-League.
Members of the bidding team declined to comment about the approach for Jedinak when contacted on Friday but information seen by Fairfax Media suggests they are in serious discussions to sign the man who lead the Socceroos in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups. The 34-year-old is contracted to Aston Villa until June 2019 but has struggled for consistent first team football at the Birmingham club this season. Jedinak is understood to be open to returning to Australia in the near future, especially to lead what would be a new A-League franchise in his home region. The Macarthur-South West Sydney bid is financially backed by property development company Lang Walker and will pull out all stops to sign Jedinak at the end of the English Championship season.
Jedinak already has close ties to the South West Sydney bid which includes former president of Sydney United, Sam Krslovic, among its directors. Jedinak is a former youth player of Sydney United and went on to captain the club, making more than 80 appearances before given an opportunity to play in the A-League in 2006.
Entering the twilight of his career, Jedinak is understood to have an eye on becoming a coach after retiring from playing and is eager to begin those steps towards management in Australia and close to home in South West Sydney. Despite the limited opportunities on offer, the A-League remains a proven fertile ground for aspiring coaches having witnessed the likes of Tony Popovic, Paul Okon, John Aloisi, Kevin Muscat, Steve Corica and Mark Rudan progress from playing in the competition to the coaching ranks.

Former A-League hero Marco Flores has returned to Australian football and signed for Adelaide City for the upcoming NPL season.
Marcos joins the club on a two-year deal and bolsters City’s attacking stocks as they aim to win their first championship since 2010. He will play a key role in the club’s youth development ranks as well.
Flores began his professional career 15 years ago with Union de Santa Fe before moving to Argentine Primera Division giant Newell’s Old Boys. In 2009, he made the move to Chile where he played for Curico Unido.
In December 2009, he was signed by Adelaide United and quickly became a fan favourite due to his high work-rate and flair. At the completion of the 2010-11 Hyundai A-League season, Flores was awarded the Johnny Warren Medal as the best player throughout the season.
Following a short stint in China with Henan Jianye, Flores returned to Australia with spells at Melbourne Victory, Central Coast Mariners and Newcastle Jets. Most recently, Flores spent 2017 in Indonesia with Bali United before returning to Argentina late last year.
Now he has opted to return to Adelaide, swapping the red of Adelaide United for the black and white stripes of Adelaide City.
And he can’t wait to get started.
“I am really excited to be playing football in Australia again,” Flores said, upon his first visit to Adelaide City Park.
“I am committed to give my very best for the club on and off the field and lead by example.”
Adelaide City Football Chairman Tony Costa was delighted with the acquisition of Flores; he believes that the attacking midfielder has an important role to play in any future success of the club.
“Marcos is a champion on the field and has been a champion all across the globe and we are ecstatic that he has decided to accept our offer to return to Australia,” Costa said.
“We are pleased to welcome Marcos and he will no doubt have an immediate impact on the profile of South Australian football."
NPL Senior Coach Michael Matricciani was also delighted by the signing, highlighting the incredible boost his squad has received upon the signature of the classy Argentine.
“I am excited to work with Marcos, we look forward to him joining the playing group and helping the club lift the level of professionalism on and off the park,” said Matricciani.
Adelaide City’s NPL preparations continue with a trial game tonight against the Modbury Jets at Adelaide City Park, while Flores is expected to join his new teammates on the field in the coming weeks.

A-League newcomers Western Melbourne will imminently announce Central Coast Mariners legend John Hutchinson as the latest addition to their coaching team.
The move comes hot on the heels of the fledgling outfit’s unveiling of Bentleigh Greens’ NPL heavyweight John Anastasiadis as an assistant to their yet-to-be-appointed head coach.
With their entry into an 11-team competition just nine months away, Gippsland-born Hutchinson - coach of Seattle Sounders’ second team since last January after a stint as Mariners assistant - is understood to have accepted the offer to come home.
The Sounders 2 play in the second-tier USL, with Hutchinson, 39, joining the franchise as a first team assistant nearly two years ago.
The former Malta international made a record 228 appearances during his ten years in Gosford, and captained the club to their solitary A-League championship in 2013 when they dispatched Western Sydney Wanderers in the grand final.
While Western Melbourne have Hutchinson in the bag, their dogged pursuit of Celtic skipper Scott Brown has yet to deliver their man, with the 33-year-old midfielder also offered a contract extension by the Bhoys.
Brown, who is off contract in June after 11 trophy-laden years with the Hoops, is understood to have been offered a lucrative two-year deal by WMG, with the option of a third season.
Celtic are prepared to extend for a further year - leaving Brown with a difficult decision to make.
It’s one that Western Melbourne believe may yet fall in their favour, despite reports in Scotland he is more likely to remain in Glasgow.

How was the game? Apparently Brighton play in a new Stadium these days. I went to see Leeds lose there many moons ago and they used to be at Hove.

Sensational. It was a massive derby, full stadium and the atmosphere was crazy good in a 25000 seater boutique stadium. Brighton won 3-1 and Maty had little to do. One outstanding save. Our seats were really good as well. I was ten rows back from the home bench, sitting next to the tunnel and right in front of the ground announcer.
Good to catch up and say hello to Maty as well.

He went on to help the Mariners win a Premiership and a Championship, and a move to Europe led him to further accolades and a regular starting spot in the English Premier League and the Socceroos.

His high five palm slap with a ref at the 2008 Hyundai A-League Grand Final ruled him out of the Olympics and at the very least put back his international career by a decade. He got called up to the occasional Australia training camp – but had to wait until he was in his 30s and prove himself time and again with a string of Hyundai A-League clubs before he finally got his international break. But he never gave up and he never got angry about his lot. He just got his head down and forced his way back into the reckoning.

A switch of coach to Ange Postecoglou quickly revealed Sainsbury to be a very serious player indeed though – and only injury forced him out of 2014 World Cup plans. Since then, he’s been the rock at the centre of the Australian defence at both the 2015 and 2019 Asian Cup campaigns and the 2018 World Cup. He’s tipped to be our next captain when Mark Milligan retires from international football.
