f**k I thought that was an away game in Wellington until I saw the palm trees.

When did Paul switch from his blue suit to the tracksuit?

Well that is actually the best we've played in a while. A good team possibly would have put us away late but a wins a win.
Perf next wk. Massive chance to be 6 clear of nux.

Roux needs the bench. Hoole needs to take one less touch every single time he has the ball.
We need to play with more width and cross earlier.

Agree with everything bar Roux, he was much improved tonight.

Against any other team we would have conceded 2 by now, the way we've played the last 20min or so. We just can't keep our heads in the game.
Ha, I was coming on here to say that it's nice to get the 3 points but another team would have done us in in that 2nd half.
We're a mathematical chance at the top 6, but definitely not a realistic one.
We absolutely must have a full strength side on the park to even be competitive. Fingers crossed for Hiariej.
Shame too, as apart for the usual final ball weakness we were pretty capable in the first half.
Just a bit flacid. We need to be more turgid.

In the flesh TBT wasn't very good either. A lot of people calling him the White Appiah.

1st half was the best we have played in 3.5 weeks. The 2nd half we were dreadful again. So 1 decent half out of 8.....at last it's an upward trend.

Kennedy was good.
The crossbar was good.
Golec and especially Baro was good.
Tommy was good. Wout was ok.
DeSilva did very well on the goal.
Hoole was annoying but dangerous.
Everyone else was poor

Pain looked ok in his Cameo as did Melling. Powell was poor.

Sorta expecting a ban on the YF forum... I posted this in reply to a post someone made.

Hello spoon my old friend
I’ve come to hold you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds as I was sleeping
And the vision
That was planted in my brain
Still remains
We hold the spoon

In restless dreams I walk alone
Down Wellington Streets of cobble stone
Neath the hallo of a street lamp
I turn my Nix shirt to the cold and damp
As my eyes were stabbed by a neon light.
In the naked light I saw
The Nix concede 100 goals maybe more
Nix players kicking without hitting the ball
Nix players tackling without getting the ball

Fools crappy play like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might reach you
The words on skill are in Auckland now
And echoed in holding the spoon.

My reading of the tea leafs is we played the weakest side I have seen at Gosford Stadium ever ....

We just got over them ....

Baro, Tommy and Golec aside the rest of the side played between fair and OK...

Trent had a reasonable and IMO set up the first goal with his pass to Hoole and he sent the defence the other way.. I think he will improve... I will play him as the 9 next week.

DDS fails to command the centre of the park and be that player making passes all over the park ... he is running to much with the ball... great goal but we need him to take charge of the centre of the park....

kenedy did his job . no matty ryan
storm poor as a right back needs to play mid field to have a future in football
golec nearly cost us not his best game
baro real pro
mcging passing and positioning needs more work
wout a rock
tommy quality
dds hangs onto the ball too long
tbt better game looks to have his confidence returning
skipee slow and short of a gallop
hoole has abilities no else has

Well, guess which in-demand social butterfly found himself sitting up in the Western Grandstand tonight?

Crowd was as expected. The Yellow Army were barely visible, but audible. Again I thought what could be if the League as a whole was doing better than the dire straits it's in and CCM had a team that won most games at home...

I can't remember the last time I felt so indifferent about a game. Even when the Nix stole yet another ball in the CCM final third and moved down-field, I felt no heart racing, no usual feeling of "Shit boys, come on!" It was the most unusually zen-like sense of "Just let it happen" I can recall feeling while watching a game- this season at least. If the Nix had come back to snatch a 2-1 win at the death I actually think I would've burst out laughing at the comedy of it. I'm so used to seeing this Mariners team snatch a draw from the grasp of victory it nearly feels like a foregone conclusion. I think that's what makes any offer apart from the games appealing- it's lost the excitement factor.

Anyhow, I was glad to see DDS get a goal to boost his morale, and while Hoole still made his usual mistakes, he played better tonight than he has recently. He could've taken us 2-0 up if his looping kick had dipped just a little lower and it would've been one of the best goals of the round.

Again, unlucky not to win by more- amazing that ball glanced the inside of the net but was still cleared out by Durante in the second half. But "unlucky not to score more" has been the story so many times this season and the Nix had their own misfortune in not being able to find the back of the net even once.

Tonight I saw everything that's wrong with this current squad- a criminal number of turnovers with the ball, any number of wasted chances that other teams would turn into goals- and yet we walked out with the 3 points. A strange game and like I said, afterwards there's still this feeling of indifference about it...

IMO Trent had a huge game tonight... his runs were clever... he kept the ball and when he passed the ball mostly he found his mark... I think he still panic's a bit running at full speed onto the ball...

He played all his early Football as a striker I would love PO to give him a couple of games as the striker with Pain & Hoole as his wingers ...
