0-1 Halftime

17' goal by Joshua Rose

Set up by Amini ... then Amini misses a shot he should have put away ... but he is good and is getting better... can hardly wait until he scores his first goal and gets the monkey off his back...

rose is definitely enjoying playing and having money flow
weemac is in top form taking players on
amimi not his best, still looked dangerous at times

as opposed to welly who the more mids and strikers were put on
the more defensive they became, wierd.

the match summed up like this
"all the yellow fever, fully clothed"

JUST got home from work u_u

Can anyone give a rundown of how we played? Even though the 0-3 scoreline suggests pretty good

Nice shooting from Rose. Did our strikers get any on target? I can remember a shot from almost the halfway line from Matty Simon that just bounced harmlessly into the keepers arms but that's about it.

Ehh, not living in the country anymore so I can't really watch many A-league matches....anything else to add to that?

Just about to head out ... in brief we are playing a 4 4 2 formation... the mids are playing in diamond formation... we have a solid defensive mid who plays a very similar game and looks like Jedi... the other three mids are all tiny and attack constantly .. we are playing with a lot of width and the two wide mids are very talented and constantly connecting with the wide backs in over runs... if we had some decent strikers we would be scoring a lot more..

Essentially we attack in numbers and have lots of skill all over the park.. our defensive is lead by a tall Dutch guy and IMO the best defender we have ever had... so solid from the back .. play the ball out from the back on the ground ... play a procession type game..

We defend in numbers and put lots of pressure on the ball carrier... our little mids tuck in when we loose the ball and we tend to close other teams down near our line but have faith in the backs to leave the sides open and defend the center of the park...

That is also how we played tonight ...

Cheers for that. Sounds like we've come a long way this season.

Yeah baby.

Nice display. Thought that apart from maybe 10 mins all game we were totally dominant.

I was surprised and worried that Perez and Doig weren't starting but Amini and Bojic, while not being in top form, were both pretty bloody good.

Ryan 7. Really not sure what to make of him. Commanded his box brilliantly and took a couple of crosses superbly but looked lost on the one that hit the post. Scary and potentially brilliant at the same time.
Really growing on me.
Bojic 7. Bit rusty at first but warmed up nicely and played solidly.
Wilko 7.5. Solid. V.Good captains knock.
Dutchy 8. Another commanding game.
Rose 8. Loved the two quality goals. That will do his confidence the world of good and he has the speed and talent going forward to score 5 or 6 every season. (Very nice bonus for my Fantasy team!)
Bozanic 7.5. Another great game. Top workrate. Just need to practice on the shooting.
Griffiths 7. Did his job well and a couple of biting tackles. Definately better than Hutcho.
Amini 7. Not really ON today but still showed great quality. Wasteful today but also slid in some classy balls.
WeeMac 8. Another dazzling display. Should have scored.
Simon 7.5. Great second half and made sure NZ didn't bully us like last time.
McBreen 8. Top game and worked increadibly hard. Much to like about this player.

Subs:

Kwas 6. Looked like a complete muppet when he first came on but still scored by making the run. He is so flawed but is also very dangerous coming of the bench.
Doig. N/A only got 5 mins but always looks safe as houses.

The Glinch is in such form ...love watching him play.
In fact I'm loving watching the entire team ! Wish Patricks goal wasn't offside ! Love a defender whose goal tally is better than most strikers ! Haha great game all round !!!!
