Heard this the other day ... had not heard it for yonks ... some songs just don't age ... its about kids that runaway from home and I seem to recall heaps of kids phoned home... google words if you want..

They had an issue with the film clip, if I remember correctly some of the photos turned out to be of victims of Ivan Milat.

Take your word for that I have no idea TBH... for a song made in the early 90's in the US by a US group you wonder where they got the photos and why they would have used them.... I do know that they played at Bill Clinton's inauguration early the next year after the song was released, such was the impact of the song ...
