ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

That's a bit racialist?

Will be interesting to see what info comes out eventually. Being the golden goose can cover up a multitude of negatives so is this a one off or the start of her image cracking? Can't help but cast a thought back to the 'mafia' rumors around Staj leaving as well.

Yeah except for the genocide and slavery bits
Gotcha. As long as you come from a historically maligned culture you get free reign.

I don't think the use of that phrase is necessarily an example of "racially aggravated harassment", but for a player who trades her image on having an indigenous heritage it's very stupid.

i see so how would you describe the role reversal ?
of course as for a "historical maligned culture" ,our resent referendum enshrined racism in our constitution.
sam should be more tolerant because she's been called boong , spook, nigger, darkie all her life .

It's definitely damaging to her image. Some of that golden girl shine will have worn off over this even though the slur was pretty minor. The idea of criminal charges for that is pretty crazy.

Looking at it in context Sam is indigenous and like it or not there's a whole lot of distrust there and that kind of thing gets absorbed in our younger years. From what I've read she was drunk enough to throw up in a cab and not want to pay for it (the whole reason the cops were there) and when you're in that sort of state all sorts of underlying stuff can bubble up to the surface seemingly from nowhere especially if there's other issues or triggers going on in the background. That's not an excuse for shitty behavior but its not like she attacked the bloke or went on some lengthy racist/homophobic/whatever rant or teed off on a group not directly connected to trauma from her culture (ie if she went off on an indian bloke or something).

I would describe it as i describe what Sam has done - it's vilification, antisocial and unacceptable. .

harassment implies an ongoing and systemic targeting which is not seemingly the case here.

Harassment being defined as when someone repeatedly behaves in a way that makes you feel scared, distressed or threatened.

I'm just saying that in a reversed situation the PC would be much more heavily scrutinised and have suffered immediate repercussions such as being removed from duties.

Think I heard she is Indian not indigenous. Not that it really matters.

Why is someone with white blood calling someone white. It’s just stupid but that’s the world these days.

Is it over blown. Absolutely.

Is it racism. Absolutely

I can’t believe those who say it’s ok because the cop was white. What a load of crap. You can’t have the best of both worlds. It’s either racism for everyone or no one and don’t make excuses why it’s that plain and simple

We all know every race uses racism against the others and really colour is just descriptive but you still can’t say it.

Is the cop being soft absolutely but do they have a case they certainly do.
