Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. I walked into the shop just before 5pm today to finish off a bit of book work before going hone. There was a gentleman of Indian( or something close) persuasion sitting on the sofa (ex Hilton hotel....no rubbish SC!!!!) out the front waiting for one of the girls to finish their appointment.
I said hello and wandered into the office out the back. Within 3 mins old mate was slipping out the front door .....like a slimy grub.
I can only assume he thought I was of of the girls husbands(I should be so lucky) and what ever he had planned in his tiny mind had just been ruined by my arrival.
Our shop is the most authentic Thai massage centre on the coast and we heal and help people.
The threat of another bogan annoying the girls is not what we are seeking.......if he was a half decent Footballer or was Monty ( the manager thinks he is boss) then things might be different.

I was just thinking the other day.....spending time online and you hear a bit about what players other people think are the best players in the league, especially at the attacking end of the field (and goalkeeping, for that matter). It occurred to me that we don't really have anybody who the general HAL supporters would consider one of the top in the league, especially at the attacking end. And maybe my memory's failing me, but it's been a while since we had that. Ibini maybe? And that was back when he was still bloody lazy. Simon hasn't been that for a good few years. It says something about our recruitment, but watching teams like Melbourne Victory play, with a number of players who would at least be up for consideration of any HAL XI team, and we just seem to lack that 'elite player' factor.

It's a worry, and I hope next year we're not going to suffer too much from the bad recruitment decisions that lead into this year (or if Charlesworth is actually going to do the right thing and stay the f*** out of the way of recruitment)

I'd say Ferreira would be the envy of many but that's about it. The last time we had a player other people were truly jealous of would have been Zwaansvijk

Current crop Reddy and Ferreira. Rose and Monty if younger. Caceras would also get picked up as a good prospect.
