ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

R15 - Mariners vs $ydney FC - Arnie's back

. i don't really want to talk about that game because it was beyond awful ... and in front of such a big crowd

. so i'll talk about the arnie thing instead. when i first saw that 'ad' i think the intent was quite clear SFC have money, CCM don't ... nothing new there ... and nothing to do with arnie other than he was with CCM now he is with SFC ... as the 'face' of both

. if he is reading more into it than that - it is arnie's problem. if he read it as a personal attack at him then perhaps he feels some underlying guilt for the amount of money that he did take out of the club personally ... money that perhaps could have gone towards retaining some young talent such as bernie or even mcglinchey

. his comments afterwards (having given us a spanking) could be quite destructive to our club ... hardly the words of someone who still claims to hold the club, players and fans close to heart. stating that five players contacted him to apologise and probably 200 texts from mariners fans doing the same can only strike a wedge into our club

. my suggestion is that any contact was after he had mis-interpreted the intent and took personal offense, jumping to a big conclusion in a very public way. those apologies may have been along the lines of 'i am sorry you mis-interpreted' ... which i s'pose is an apology of sorts ... but would suggest he has also mis-interpreted the apology :D

. i'd also suggest that those apologising were not 200 fans as we would understand them, more like his mates such as gatt & slater (sounds a bit like his defamation lawyers). at least he is taking his role seriously down there ... no room for the self-deprecating humour needed on the coast

. anyway that is enough out of me ... i feel better having vented ... may i suggest you all get your frustrations out as well

I saw one Mariners fan thrown out ( presumably for punching those Sydney idiots) and 2 or 3 Sydney taken out.
What has that got to do with me?
Your good oil is, as usual a load of bollocks......I doubt anyone thrown out would even be banned for one week.
The late start gave us our best crowd of the season.
Yep saw this as well. The couple of SFC idiots thrown out and one Mariners supporter.

Ahhh yess, Wombat. Let me tell you Wombat, just so you know, the good oil I was referring to is someone who wears a blue uniform with a bit of brass on it, and a close friend. Obviously you are talking *your* usual load of bollocks with your usual load on board.

Well your police friend is over exaggerating and talking up his officers, who were pretty dumb in letting the second scuffle happen.
Explain the life time ban please?

the first Sydney goal was off a handball, the rest were off our defence ball watching....the 3 week break sure didnt appear to help matters any, Mossy said the boys trained the house down during the break maybe he overcooked them.
Monty comes on, Major comes on..Monty to Simon, Simon to Major, GOAL...they made that look easy...could of done with them from the off.
Pos kept getting caught way out of position, Bosnar was too busy yelling at people while letting smurfs run around him, Ando, well, Ive never liked his style of play and Rosey, he must of been over excited about re-signing.

As for the blue on the edge of 16, well, I was standing next to Wombat and he had nothing to do with it...I do know that the little Sydney buggers who got chucked called me and the missus c**ts as we walked past them near the club, angry young men indeed
Does the phrase Season Over apply yet

Huh???

The only goal I saw us getting was from a barnstorming run Rosey who evaded two tackles who then went one on one with the keeper and then unselfishly layed off to Major.

Was I dreaming??

I'm not going to respond to the other parts of your post. 20 officers for this game vs. 8 for AU. Self explanatory, really. FYI the NSW Police Force are paid direct by CCS who probably recover it from CCMFC as part of the venue rental on the day, but I have no direct information on the rental recovery processes.

Jesus fkn christ...just watched the highlights. Now I'm even angrier. Those goals are just damn embarrassing.

I remember playing in youth, if we played that badly we'd be doing laps of the field immediately after the game. Probably wouldn't have hurt the Mariners.

Our defence is just....JESUS CHRIST!!!! Even Reddy was
The worst part is all the contract extensions. This is the squad we're gonna have, give or take a few, for the next 3 years. Not looking forward to it.
The recontractings are disgraceful. What do you do with players that are a liability?? Keep them on!! That makes sense!

But even that aside, all season I just thought we've looked like a poorly drilled team. Most of the time if we intercept and we have the numbers we look like we've got absolutely no idea to do bouncy round white thing that's on the field for some reason. The formations are abysmal - yes, let's change up what's worked in the past.

I could say this game should be a wake up call, but we've already had too many games that should have been wake-up calls

Anyway, here's a photo of Mossy:

They got there names taken down by the cops and then they were joined by another 4 or 5 mates. They then tried to start another fight and one got a beer rammed in his face and then they got taken away. Not sure if they were actually thrown out but I'd presume so.
i hope so

Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC - Hyundai A-League Match Centre Hyundai A-League.png I only caught the first half but from what I saw SFC were allowed to stroll through our midfield time and time again. Hutch was especially at fault as he just couldn't match Ibini's athleticism at times and he just seemed to stroll straight past him. I don't know how accurate the a-league web site is but when you compare the tackles in midfield it shows why our defense was under so much pressure (although they didn't really flatter themselves either haha).

How do you know all that stuff

All this was played out in the media at the time, no secrets, sources or anything like that. This is just a more of revisionist view of Arnie's tenure as the Socceroos manager, depends however which way you wish to interpret/view the facts.

As for the stuff about the players being unprofessional at the AC07, I was there and witnessed it myself.
