ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Waste of time booing those guys...they were pivotal to our most successful time as a club and have to work.

BTW - Hutch seems set to play (article in the paper talking about him being keen to lead the side against Arnie), so I think it's unlikely we're playing Monty in the super-deep role. I reckon we'll be playing our normal shape, with:

----------------Reddy-------------
Roux-Anderson-Bosnar-Rose
--------------------Hutch---------
--------Monty---------------------
Fitz---------Trifiro--------Mane
---------------Duke----------------
Nice side but i'd like to see Caceres in there somewhere, but maybe off the bench. We need a side that is willing to work their socks off this weekend and stick to a plan and i think that side would.

So a lot of chat from the Sydney FC team saying they will have the edge over us because Arnie knows how Moss will play. I think this goes both ways though. Who will come up with the best game plan?

I do expect us to park the bus; I also expect Matt Sim to be in the starting line-up :) and am fairly certain Kim will be too :(
Sim and Kim only go together in a rhyme. You could be right Roy but i hope not.....no problem with one playing as they can both add something.

On Bernie and Hatman, I completely agree... Unless they outrigh shafted your team by, say taking advantage of a loophole to try and weasel out of their contract, I don't believe in booing past the season, if you know what i mean... And if Pedj hadn't left, we wouldn't have seen as much of Storm-boy, so there's definitely that.
Bernie, well that was circumstance. By all accounts, he wanted to stay up here, but Sydney had the money to pay out his contract etc etc... AND he's been courteous about it.

Arnie though... I'm entirely with rbaker, he got out on a friendly agreement with the club, looking for greener pastures... He grabbed two of our strongest resources and brought them with him. His failure in Japan, contributed to us completely losing McGlinchey and, when he got the job with the smurfs, by all accounts - he proceeded to use our club as a shopping window. Plus, he keeps going on about how glorious it is at the Smurfs, that's just stomach churning ;)

But, on the other hand, he didn't have a whole lot of options re. where to go, either...

Except in this case the ex skipped off after renewing their vows, publicly declaring that they'd never go out with anyone in your family only to shack up a few months later with your sister who lives down the road after things went bad with the other woman. You might have found someone else, but the pain and problems that the ex caused by leaving are still present.
Is there any suggestion that we weren't compensated for the breaking of Arnie's contract in exactly the terms specified by same? No different to a player sale in that respect. He was always going to move on at some point, we had a replacement in the wings ready to go, we were hardly going to sack him so as to definitely not have to make a transition mid-season.

One of your worst posts yet.

Bojic there's no point - we're better off without him. He's now a hat salesman who miskicks a ball for money at the neighbours' place. Would you swap Roux for him? I wouldn't. Point and laugh, maybe. Boo? Nah.

With Arnie, why boo? He took another job when he was unemployed and ours was unavailable (unless you think we should've demoted Moss, which would have been an utter cock of a thing to do). That's like being pissed off at your ex for moving on when you're happily married. Did you think he was going to stay unemployed so he could say he never loved another club after ours? f**king hell, he's a coach, he will take coaching jobs when they're on offer. Still delivered our first Grand Final win. Want to see him lose three games a year against us, but other than that good luck to him.

Clarky: Same deal as for Arnie but more so. He played for us for years as well, he was a real favourite of mine, and a coastie to boot. We've got Tim Knight on board, and he's going well, so wish Clarky well for the future.
Ok plan B then GIVE EM SOME CHEEEEEZZZEEEE!!!!!!:shoutclap::shoutclap::shoutclap::shoutclap::shoutclap::shoutclap::shoutclap:

That's a decent looking side and would give us a very good chance of taking all the points. It's not my fav formation but it's spot on player wise atm.

I imagine that in practice it's a *long* way from your favourite formation because when we line up that way, it's to allow Monty to drop between Anderson and Bosnar, so in defence we form a 5-4-1 rather than the normal 4-4-2. Very negative setup, but gives us the most chance to soak and hit with pace on the counter.

I'm not about to boo Arnie, Bernie, or Clarky. All served us so well and often in difficult times. Ended up getting the Championship that had eluded us. People move on, clubs move on. Provided they still show respect to our club I am happy for their new career paths.

Same goes for weemac. I don't pretend to know the inner workings of contract dealings so I can't comment. But I have read a few articles where Mikey has been very diplomatic and praised our club as well. So good luck to them all.
