Auburn, really depends on what criteria you're rating the derby....... Celtic/Rangers means a lot to those fans, and it usually decides who wins the League, but being honest, the standard of the football is usually gash.

Boca/River Plate is just immense in all senses of the word, but unfortunately doesn't recieve the attention it should outside of those who actively go looking for it (in the West anyway).

If you wanted to rate it by passion, Fenerbahce/Galatasaray would win by a light year.  Never seen anything like it......

Barcelona v Real Madrid is a huge game but it isn't a derby imo.

Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid and Barcelona v Espaniol are the derbies.

Anyway the biggest and most important is Dundee United v Dundee

A local derby is all about passion imo.It doesn't matter if it's a 2nd div game in outer mongolia or Boca v River.To the fans involved it means everything.And if their team wins they couldn't give a toss about the quality of the game or what anyone thinks outside of their own town/city.

It's all about giving shit to the opposition until the next derby.
