ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

A good initiative from the Mexicans. Watching FNSW?

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) is thrilled to announce that for the first time in Victorian Premier League (VPL) history, fans can watch VPL football from anywhere in the world, as this year there is a match of the round which will be broadcast live on the internet.

Live broadcasts can be viewed at http://vpltv.footballfedvic.com.au/ There are also links from the FFV and VPL websites.

The first four live broadcast matches have been confirmed and they are:

    * Round 1 Green Gully Cavaliers versus Hume City - Saturday 27th February 3.00pm at Green Gully

    * Round 2 Melbourne Knights versus Heidelberg United - Monday 8th March 6.00pm at Knights Stadium

    * Round 3 Bentleigh Greens versus Altona Magic Friday 12th March 8.30pm at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex

    * Round 4 South Melbourne versus Green Gully Cavaliers Sunday 21st March 5.00pm at Bob Jane Stadium.

Another new and exciting feature to the VPL this year is the progressive score updates which will be displayed on the VPL page from the other matches being played during the course of the round. VPL will also have a page on Facebook and Twitter so fans are always up-to-date with the latest VPL information.

2010 is shaping up as one of the most exciting VPL seasons in recent history, all clubs have recruited heavily with the hopes of glory in 2010, but there is also a focus on youth development and clubs are focused on supporting young champions to be the best they can.

The two promoted Clubs to the competition, Northcote City and Bentleigh Greens, are also eager to show that they have what it takes in the top mens competition in Victoria.

The NTC team kicked off the season on Tuesday night against South Melbourne, winning 4-0 at Bob Jane Stadium. South Melbourne coach, Vaughan Coveny said it was a great hit-out for his team ahead of their other round one clash against defending Champions Altona Magic.

To clubs news, Melbourne Knights have announced that Mark Viduka is their number one ticket holder for season 2010, Richmond have signed Davey Van t Schip, son of  Melbourne Heart Coach, John Van t Schip, and South Melbourne have hosted soccer clinics for the Trevor Barker Sports Camps at Bob Jane Stadium.

Another organisation aggressively integrating social media into their promotion.

By and large, HAL clubs are shocking in this area and given the said target market and a low ad budget ($2.2m a year I believe) I can only assume that the clubs are full of techno luddites who have no idea how cheap and powerful twitter/fb etc can be?

NSW State McDonald's Cup Round 2 from this Tuesday brings in more State League sides, but many fascinating giant killer possibilities eg. Lokomotiv Cove v. Sydney University. [One for Dibo!]

Games in R2 are also played on Wed 28th April (eg. Sans Souci v. Inter Lions, and Central Coast Lightning travel again to play Collaroy Cromer on the northern beaches), and on 4th and 5th May.

New State League 2 leaders Roosters FC host IPL powerhouse Dandaloo in a cracker at Lidcombe Oval on May 4.
