A lot of people associated with football on the Coast will be saddened by the loss of Donny Ferguson whopassed away last Friday night.
Don was a referee on the Coast for many, many years refereeing at all levels up to Premier League and Representative games. He was a truely great bloke and a true gentleman on and off the field.
He had a character all to himself. If a couple of palyers shaped up to one another and threw a few punches, Don instead of getting out a red card would stand the players up face to face and have them shake hands. Kept the players on the park and usually from then had a non-atagonistic good game.
Always had a friendly word for all. Don was always ready to drop personal matters to serve our great sport and to help and guide the younger referees over the many years.
He was a legend in his own time.
Don's funeral will be held at Palmdale this Wednesday 6th August at 11AM.
If you can make it please send him off with the pride he deserves.
Donny, we will miss you old mate.
