ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Actually it is for once a balanced article in that Tennis, Golf and Rugby and arguably cricket are the sports hurt by Football rise …

The AFL & NRL are expanding … Cricket Australia over recent years have cried fowl over AFL getting all the best sports folk in Vic…

Football teams [NRL/AFL/Football] games with a regional / city based national domestic competitions are hurting the top down National team sports like Rugby / Tennis / Cricket ….

Why the A-League / Socceroo balance is important to get right …. when Football has both going well we will expand more … and the big looser’s will be tennis / golf / cricket and maybe rugby …

This follows recent articles by other News hacks re ..

Soccer bigger in Sydney than any other code

Mike Tuckman recently wrote in the Roar about news... I think he maybe right... having said that it is good to see...

Want to know why News Corp is suddenly running positive pieces on the A-League? Because journalism ain’t paying so well and the net must now be cast far and wide to lure as many readers as possible.

It used to be that outlets like News Corp acted as gate-keepers, publishing about topics it had a vested interest in and keeping stories about rival interests out of the newspaper.

But the internet age has rendered the mainstream media obsolete, leading to a frenzy of click-baiting aimed at attracting parochial respondents from polar-opposite ends of the spectrum

News Corp use a high level of specialised sport coverage to get people to read their awful papers. If they didn't write so much about AFL, nobody would touch the Herald Sun with a ten foot pole. Same goes for its sister paper the Daily Telegraph, the opinion section is one of the most atrocious things to have been printed on paper and is done so daily and is nothing but a testament to misinformation and pushing across Rupert's and his friends' interests.

With the round ball getting so many fans in Western Sydney (because News Corp don't give two tosses about the latte sippers of the inner city and east like me, not enough population base compared to out West), as well as its big support in Victoria especially after the Man U/Melb Vic game, its only natural for their garbage papers to increase coverage on the sport in a desperate hope people will read the rest of their god awful papers. Same applies to Rupert's other news website, news.com.au

Sorry to rant. I just hate the media.
