Last time we met we lost 4-3 with only 10 players. Hopefully with a full team and we can take our first win of the season....

Last we played them off the park but lost 4-3 so it is revenge time. Always a tough team to play.

just got back after winning 3-1 against east gosford at toukley

Very disappointed with the outcome from our game. I set positions  prior to the games commencement only for a few players to decide to change as they ran on the pitch. Needless to say we had a stacked right hand side and no-one on the left. BV slammed in 2 easy uncontested goals in the first 5 minutes due to our incorrect positional play. After much yelling and eye bulging we found our designated positions and things were much better. Although the final score was 4-2 to BV, I feel we played the better football. But we blundered the vital parts and either hoofed it over the cross bar or waited too long to line up a more comfortable kick. Allowing their keeper and/or defenders time to regather and close us down. So many missed opportunities in the first half had BV scrambling and changing keeper in the 2nd half as we had them under constant pressure but just couldn't find the net and I counted 2 legit and 2 incorrect offside calls against us - we had no assistant refs in this game.

Gos WAA 5 had a blinder of a first half, and they were unlucky to not get a goal within the first 10. Unfortunatly Avoca scored 2 quick goals in the 2nd half, one of which I'm pretty sure was offside, but oh well.... they are improving every week!!

SEU 35ds got up 2-1 against Kincumber 2s, the comp leaders - with 2nd placed Terrigal also losing, it means 2 points between 1st and 4th (us) in the comp, and with Umina only three points behind us. We have Kincumber 1s next week, so any pointers would be most appreciated Atomic. (btw commiserations on the bad day at the office)

Yeah, thanks for that. It looks like our campaign is over for the year. It's a pity as I thought we could've competed for that 4th spot along with yourselves and Umina (having had a win over both of you this season). It's still mathematically possible but highly improbable for us to make the semi's.

As for tips to beat Kincumber 1's, I think it's pretty clear from our scoreline that I have no idea... LOL! All I can say is that their defence is fragile but their attack is quite structured. I should know, I saw a lot of it.

AA4 - Doyalson 4 def Killarney 0

First win of the season for us! Has been a long time coming thats for sure.
Early pressure from Killarney saw us on the back foot. Then we countered and earned a free kick outside the box. After that went in, we never looked back. Off the bottom of the table now with 6 games remaining.

Confidence is as high as it has ever been this season, and I am sure another win will be on the cards before the season is out.

Cheers Atomic, will keep that in mind. Our comp, as you say, has been a lot closer than the ladder would suggest, with results swinging all over the place at times. All the best mate.
