    ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. Prospect off to Portugal after A-League snub

TALENTED teenager Jason Davidson has been snapped up by Portuguese first-division club Pacos de Ferreira after receiving only one serious offer from the A-League.

Davidson, 18, signed a three-year deal last week - just days after playing for the Australian under-18 side in a tournament in Vietnam. The son of former Socceroos great Alan Davidson, Jason spent three years learning his trade in Japan before returning to his home town of Melbourne late last year.

Davidson played for Hume City in the Victorian Premier League until June, when he left for a serious of overseas trials. Melbourne Victory, Adelaide United and Central Coast Mariners all scouted him, but only Newcastle Jets coach Branko Culina made any sort of contract offer - believed to have been a two-year deal.

Was offered a contract, therefore was not snubbed. Playing in Portugal doesn't exactly make you God's gift either - look at Kaz Patafta!

Will have to be guided by you, bear (eeek, what am I saying?).  Haven't seen Benfica play for a long time  :-[
