Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

We won't find another coach who will actually change anything in Australia. The league needs a team to bring in an overseas coach of good quality.

Yes there are a lot of other factors, but at the end of the day, the manager wears the responsibility for the teams results. He knows that, we know that. And he has delivered tripe all season.

Isn't that what I've been saying all season? It's arguably more important than attracting marquee players.

Well there is one coach who has had charge of 2 teams this season, neither can pass, neither can defend and neither can take set pieces.

And it isnt McKinna - when fergie left we changed out style and forgot the basics

LOL at people suggesting McKinna out, he's done more things for this club than anyone ever will.  We just need some confidence back, oh and replacement for Mile!

We need a chairman willing to spend some money on marquee players.

Rubbish - I remember 2 very good results against Newcastle, we were a chance of top spot up until our loss to QLD.

A poor end to the season and people talk about this crap

It's been spoken about for a long time. THe hope that he might pull a miracle out of his bag has held it off though.

I can't agree.

McKinna has been brilliant for our club so far and he deserves another season.

However, he needs to be more professional.  The HAL is now a decent level of competition and muppets can't be hidden anymore.............and we have more than any other squad in the HAL including the Jets.

Lawrie...you showed bad skills with your handling of Gumps last season...please don't commit suicide by continuing with substandard player like Hutcho and Wilko as the spine of your team.
We are love you and appreciate what you have done so far BUT IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP...the squad is not good enough.
Make changes now!!!! We have been wooden spoon material for the last 5 weeks...and that will eventuate next season if you let it.
Bring in a top quality coach from England/Scotland and 4 decent players including a good Marquee.

where is the money for this coming from?

We have a core of a good(ish) side but they are poorly organised and cant cross or take set pieces.

IMO his biggest challenge now comes from the fact that most HAL level players have been recruited from the state leagues. He's not going to magically find 3-4 first-teamers in the NSWPL next year. How many players came up from the NSWPL/VPL this year and succeeded?

He also doesn't really have a youth team to elevate, such was the lack of success with CCM's NYL team.

Big gaps to fill, but certainly not beyond his means. Just need to look outside teh square.

Conservative recruitment policies are what's holding the club back. The team has lacked one special player who can be a real match turner, this has been a problem since the start.

How do you draw the line between stability and stagnation?

On the marquee player ... when JA was with us he put my guess is 5, 000 extra bums on seats... a top quality player will put bums on seats ... our crowd for the round one final was poor by any standards ...

The crowds will come back if we get as many are saying some top quality players in.

Just a tho do you think Micheal Beach would come back as a marquee

You spend peanuts...who know what you get and we have a squad full of em (we even re-signed one of them).
Apparently only us and Victory made a profit last year and we made the ACL and don't see fit to invest for the future!!
I don't understand it!  In the words of Pauline...Please explain!!
