ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners to take over CCF

I've heard a pretty strong rumor that the CCM will be taking over the CCF.
Does anyone have more information on this one. ?

Was rumoured to have been part of the V1 business plan for CCM to buy a controlling stake in the Lightning but didnt happen for whatever reason.

The CC needs a club in the NSWPL to provide an off season pathway for the Yoof and "fringe" players. SL is not a high enough standard.

cannot see how it would be constitutionally possible for a private entity to take over a local football association

Your right Mick, in this case though it would be the articles of association of the CCF that would need to be followed and when have they been followed anyway ?.
Does anybody know if Central Coast United and prior to that the Lakers were shut down in  accordance with the law.

An entity that is wholly owned by CCF though so would have to be approved by their (shareholders) member clubs. I'm not sure if Lightning is setup coreectly though anyway as it looks like a private company setup (same as a normal business).

Do an FC United, form a side, join the bottom tier and play out of Budgie.

Work their way up to NSWPL and you can bet your life that will drag CCF kicking and screaming to the table at some point.

CCF has shareholders? i dont know much about all that share stuff, but doesnt CCF have .5m debt? what good would it be to own shares of such an entity - even when the stockmarket is good. ??

it would be if mariners did take over... at least lightning - then they can make the pitch HALF decent. they claim it is a priveledge for young players to play there for their grand finals, but in all honesty, the only thing that makes it better than frost reserve is the margin and razzle stands.

CCF debt makes things bad as Pluim is probably worthless (as real estate) due to it being flood affected it's a shame lots of money has been spent on lights fields etc etc when surely there would be a lot better location for what should be "the centre of football excellence" on the coast.

Most council maintaned fields are a lot better than Pluim otherwise council would close them. !!!!.
