If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Jets to be honoured with flyover

To celebrate the Newcastle Jets appearance in the A-League Grand Final this Sunday, there will be a flight of RAAF FA-18 Hornet jets making a low level pass over the Sydney Football Stadium.

The flight will originate from the RAAF base in Williamtown, which is just north of Newcastle.

Squadron Leader Alan Evan said: Everyone at the base is gunning for the Jets, and we wish them well on Sunday against the Central Coast Mariners. The flight will also be a spectacular event over the skies of Sydney, and will be a great addition to all the other sporting and entertainment activities in Sydney this weekend.

Meanwhile, on the Central Coast, there are advanced plans for the Royal Australian Navy to conduct a 21 gun salute and test firing of Stinger missiles off the coast.

Central Coast Mariners benefactor John Singleton dispelled rumours that there is a connection with the flyover and the RAN exercise. It is a total coincidence that the navy salute and test firing exercise is timed for when the flyover occurs. he said.

Any chance the FA 18s could incorporate a bombing exercise or a bit of straffing at the SOUTHERN end of the SFS on the way out? :D ;D

Prediction:

It is expected that one of the flyover jets, when nearing the Navy flotilla, will, without warning or provocation, suddenly tumble out of the sky with a spectacular dive. The call sign of said plane will be 'J Griffiths'.
