Jedi finding his feet in the Championship (finally)

After a somewhat inauspicious start to his Crystal Palace career, Jedi seems to be getting the hang of life in the Championship.

I've kept a close watch on his progression and was delighted to read the following thread on the Crystal Palace fans forum:

Good on you Mile

I watched the Palace v Leicester game the other week and to be honest he was pretty ordinary.

Another quality performance from Jedi this morning in the Carling Cup loss to Cardiff. He was judged by the vast majority of Palace fans to be the MoM.

Here's some satisfying reading about a true Mariner legend.

Jedi with a MoM performance overnight and scored in Palace's 1-0 win over Peterborough.

Mile is fast becoming the fans' favourite player. He even has his own tee shirt...

From a country far, far away...

For those that may not be following Jedi's career as closely as some, I'd just thought I'd let you know that he has been filling in as captain at Crystal Palace whilst the regular guy is out injured. Pretty impressive effort :eek:verhead:

Probably because he always gives 100% and has a great temperament as a player.

Star players, are often not the best captains marvin, and I think yo do Mile a real injustice.

I agree he always gives 100% but I have never been able to rate him.

But he was outstanding for us?

Outstanding is a little misleading in my opinion, he was dedicated and put in 100% every game and in the A-League that was enough, so I guess yes he was great in the A-League.

He has never stood out for the national team and whenever I watch him at Palace he is bellow what you would expect for a championship player.

It's a little like the situation with Chris Herd, puts in 100% but lacks simple qualities, for example Herd has a very bad passing game and that's what is stopping him from becoming a starter every week at Aston Villa.

Jedi is miles ahead of Kilkenny though, but Kilkenny is rubbish.

No he has never stood out for the national team. Though certainly more so than, Carney, North and a host of others who have worn the shirt. I have never though he looked out of place at championship level myself. But you have to see him as what he is,
a strong tall DM with a good work ethic, great attitude, hard to beat in the air and a serious boot on him.

Passing range and speed of thought are the two biggies for him to work on obviously, but my point is he has some serious pros as well. Hence playing in the championship and being elected captain.

You hit the nail right on the head there FP. The only thing he gets criticised by the Palace fans for is his passing. From what I've read, that's improved over time. He is absolutely loved at Palace nowadays for all the other reasons you mentioned. One mistake though... you said he was hard to beat in the air. Incorrect, he is IMPOSSIBLE to beat in the air :pirashoot:

As has been posted by many a Palace fan... Jedi is a BEAST!

Palace had a 2-2 draw against Milwall overnight. Jedi scored the first goal... AND IT WAS A f**kING SCREAMER!!! :pirashoot:
