ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I wanted to thank you all personally for a great day.

As Sydney FC fans we visited your neck of the woods on the weekend and wanted to say thanks. I hope to be able to support your great club in some way in the future. Already planning a return trip. Well done.

Very enjoyable read!!! Glad you had such a good experience. The Sydney games are always great days even if the results for us have been disappointing recently. Come back soon.

P.S. Welcome to the forum.

Sure was a great day (forgetting the result) my wife has now attended 5 Mariners games this season including the away trip to Newcastle.
She who has watched many a football game is now a mariners Tragic often initiating a hand clapping frenzy when the team requires a lift.
I can see a second Gold membership on the horizon. And I totally agree with the above observations a day out at CC stadium is just a pleasure no matter the result.

Wonderful write up of your experiences Stuart. Thanks for sharing here and more broadly via ROAR.

Naturally I differ in thinking Carneys substitution was spat straight from the gates of hell and that given he was never onside in the ten seconds of build up play or for the goal that it should have been very easy to flag... however very glad you and your family had such a great time. Coast is always very welcoming in my experience.

Thanks for taking the time for writing this, Stuart. So glad you and your family enjoyed your precious time together on the Coast.

I might add, its always good to have travelling fans come to our ground, it certainly adds to the whole match day experience when there is the atmosphere created by supporter groups such as The Cove in conjunction with our fans.

Your experience in many ways is similar to mine in that what started out as my enjoyment in watching my team, has become a family ritual, with my wife, daughter and I attending all our home games and many of the away games in Sydney and Newcastle.

My wife was very similar. Having grown up on a diet of rugby league with 4 brothers, and a cousin (who played for Australia), she used to come kicking and screaming to games when we 1st started going and didn't understand a thing. Now she is a Mariners tragic, with all the gear, shirt, scarf. & jacket, first in the car to go and organises other family events around so we don't miss a home game. She stills talks about attending our grand final win as the best sporting game she has ever been too, and she has been to State of origin games, NRL games and a Wallaby / All Black test.

It extends to Socceroos games as well as we have attended every match they have played in Sydney for a number of years now, just so she can watch her Mile, Matty, Trent, Alex and Tommy.

So good luck with it mate and know you and your family are always welcome on the Coast.

everybody on here should really read the comments on the article too. It's great to see the love for our stadium as well as the sort of day an away trip provides.

Great article mate, thank you for the write-up. We've always enjoyed a good relationship with SFC and have tried to make away fans welcome, so I'm glad you had a good experience - before and after as well.

CCM v SFC is probably my favourite fixture, home or away.

Make sure you come back!

Oh, and don't forget to buy your wife a CCM jersey for her birthday ;-)
