ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

CCF Fees Up Again

Just for the email from the club about this years rego and fees and it appears that CCF have raised the player registration fees between $10 to $30 depending on age group :-(

Interesting to see the justification this year especially given the rep football has moved over to the Mariners.

Just one thing to note on this. Rep football has moved to the Mariners but CCF is still funding to the tune of $175,000 per season as the Mariners couldn't afford it but wanted to take it to provide a streamlined pathway.

So a commercial entity decides it does not get enough return out of investing the $175,000 in developing players, brand awareness/marketing even even to pass on a $17.50 "levy" over the season across it's average crowd of 10,000 so the CCF decides it can afford it by passing on the "levy" to its members?

So what was the trade off from the mariners in terms of putting back into the grassroots for the $175k?

We haven't levied the members. This amount is the same amount Rep Football has costs CCF every year for the past 5-6 years with the exception of last year where it was more.

Well that was pretty big of CCF especially in context of MC's comments last year.

Looks to be a great investment of CCF members cash based on todays article -http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/football/board-set-up-to-plan-for-mariners-future/story-fn63e0vj-1226796120505.

The Australian understands the committee, which met for the first time yesterday, includes long-time supporter and mayor of Wyong, Bob Graham; former FFA employee Duncan Tweed, who is chief executive of the Northern Suburbs Football Association; and Michael Webber, vice-president of the Ku-ring-gai Soccer Association.

It all comes down to what CCF's philosophy is in regards to running the association. If they believe that providing a pathway to our local elite players is part of their brief and they can do that by just "granting" CCMA funds without getting involved in the day to day running of the rep programme then I think its win/win all round.

I had a quick look at CCF's 2013 financials and annual report and I think the Pluim Park upgrade has left a massive hole in the balance sheet. The quick ratio (current assets:current liabilities) is dire. Most business's try and run at around the 1.5:1 mark. CCF's is 0.11:1 so they definitely need the cash. The pulling out of FNSW is starting to make more sense now as well.
