ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Am doing some research for work...

We're hoping in particular to find a sports person... seem much more attractive to boys AND girls over a pop singer etc...

Anyone know of any? (Not persoanlly, obviously...but in general?)

Craig Wing has a sister with Down Dyndrome. He is well known for his fund raising for Down Syndrome NSW

Wayne Bennett has a son with severe brain damage following an adverse reaction to triple-antigen immunisation as a baby.
He also has a physically disabled daughter born with severe arthrogryposis.

Both of the above are league people, but both touching stories. Bennett's in particular is heart wrenching.

Thanks heaps guys :)

Background if anyone wants to know..I work for Livewire which is an online community for teens between 10-20 living with a serious illness, chronic health condition or disability. Pretty much is a place where they can discuss their time in hospital etc, but also use it as a distraction from treatments etc. Is really cool as all the kids love learning about other kids illnesses, and are VERY supportive to each other.

We are soon to be opening a new site, for siblings. This is because of the great deal of stress, and mixed emotions that come with being a sibling of a seriously ill or disabled person. We're trying to find people who could either be a. an ambassador, or b. someone we can do a profile on.

Thanks heaps again people, and keep em coming. I really appreciate it :)

Pokey, talk to the club. A senior person has a disabled son IIRC and gets involved in a lot of fund raisers etc - they might be able to chuck a few names your way?
