Cricket Victoria chief executive Tony Dodemaide said he had ordered a full assessment of the impact of giving up the MCG for October 1 and the following weekend.

The board would consider the assessment before any decision was made, he added.

"I doubt whether there would be a problem but we need to go through our due diligence and advise our board," Mr Dodemaide said late today.
