THE FFA Match Review Panel has cited Melbourne Victory star Besart Berisha for making contact with a fourth official during Friday night’s fiery clash with Adelaide United.
Shortly before half time, Berisha took out Reds defender Jordan Elsey with a robust tackle, which started a scuffle between Victory and Adelaide players.

Fourth official Daniel Elder separated the pair and escorted Berisha away from the ensuing scuffle — only for the Victory marksman to push him in the chest as he turned away.

A statement from FFA said the MRP had determined that, on the basis of the evidence reviewed, Berisha has a case to answer whether he committed the offence of “Unsporting conduct toward a match official” in the 45th minute of the game.

Can not believe Williams still gets away with what he did to Isasis, just as bad as Snakes head butt IMO. Maybe because Williams is a potential Socceroo in November. At least one of them has been cited.

Totally agree Recky wouldn't wish that injury on anyone, enjoyed watching him play and I've said it before he is class and they will miss him. He was carving the Roar up before this unfortunate injury. It's a loss for the HAL season.

On the Roar I'm not sure how much longer Aloisi can keep using pre-season as an excuse. They were well off the pace and flattered by the scoreline and could have even drew the match. I think the Vargas incident was quite disruptive to the scum and shows round 1 was a revelation and have missed plenty of good chances since that day. Petratos was a very good pick up and will be surprised if he doesn't move OS again, two quality goals this season.
I hope the Roar keep on sucking , cause me and the missus will be at Suncorp for the Mariners game....last thing i need is for Aloi$i to do is get his shit together that week

Anyone watching this Sydney game?
Zullo should have been booked.
Perth should have had a penalty.
If that 2nd penalty was a penalty where the VAR when we played Western Sydney?

Writing my post the same time as you posted Al. Bullshit isn't it.

Only reason the second penalty was given in the first place was because of Wilkshire pressuring the ref. If the VAR can't be implemented fairly and consistently every week, which it can't, it needs to go.

VAR sucks. The perth one is identical to first Sydney penalty but because ref called it differently different result.
Why not call the ref over like the 2nd one if you think it’s soft.

Two different people shouldn’t be making decisions

Kossie talking shit now.
Saying the second penalty was handball because the shot was on target and hit his hand. FFS

City beat Adelaide away with only 10 men after 60 mins! This City side are to be feared now they have a proper coach. McCormack is very good and his dead ball work is superb.
When down to 9 they switched to 2 banks of 4 with McCormack as the lone outlet.
Once Cahill came on it looked like they changed to 3 CB and both wingers tucked in narrow like FBs to have 5 at the back when defending. Fitzy gave them a fast and direct outlet when they could break.
Very impressive.
Paul and his assistant should watch and learn.
Also it didnt hurt to have a superb keeper (that we could have got) keeping it cool at the back.

Yes, City looked very good.
Was it a good free kick? I couldn't work out if the Adelaide goalkeeper had got the wall set up wrong?

His hand is behind his back. Where is it supposed to go. If it was the other arm fair enough

Behind his back but looked to be sticking out from his body. I wouldn't want a VAR to be overruling that. But I'd agree that this is probably a good case study for the VAR and they need to speed this one up.

Like the disallowed roar goal the previous week - absolutely no reason for that to take as long as it did, given how clearcut it was.

The other issue, of course, is consistency. We're seeing too many decisions that should be getting the attention of the VAR that isn't (like the penalty decisions in our games).

In a surprise to no one, VAR comes to the assistance of Smurf FC.
How do you figure that? VAR raised the question over it

They are alot more defensive and very hard to break down. 10 men made them even harder. Very professional display.
The new foreign CB is pretty good as well.

Attack I haven’t seen much from them but they won’t be conceding so can be scrappier.

Mauk had a couple of good runs but Izzo didn’t do a lot except give away the penalty and his speciality of conceding from free kicks. Was a good strike but his positioning was wrong. Off his line a fair way. Still prone to lapses of stupidity

I suppose as the ref has said its a penalty then the VAR should not have intervened since its not an obvious error. VAR should intervene if it doesn’t hit the hand or not at all and visa versa

Thats the floor in all review systems. The refs interpretations can be different in the same game or weeks and the VAR can’t say that’s not what you did 5mins or 5weeks ago.
