ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Two top goals.

Very nice long ball from Golec and nice smarts on the shot.

Wout's header was top notch as well

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
Tell you what, the Nix and the Mexicans sure handed out some shit tackles in the last two pre season games

WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!!! :D Starting to feel like we could be looking at a decent season! :overheadl:
Definitely going to compete, and we won't be ugly to watch either, so should at least make for it being a more enjoyable season than the past 3 years.

We have a far better blend of youth and experience and we at last have multiple quality proven "footballers". This will be a career defining season for Okon I think. Let's hope he builds some fame on the back of a spectacular season with us.

I like that we're already seeing far better final balls being played by Tom and Hoole and DDS. That bodes really well as besides our defence it has been our weakest link imho.

Quality goals. Thats an exciting result. Add to that, the fact me beat Scum 2.0 and they are beating everyone else and i'm fancying us for a top 6 finish. Our depth in a few spots is sketchy but if we keep our best 11 out there we will trouble everyone.

Watched the first goal against Victory a few times now & thought why the long ball from the back. (Great thought it was it's not the way we have been playing recently) Then I counted the Mariners players on the field (That I could see from video) and unless we had 2 players standing on or close to our keeper we don't have a full side on the park

Linesman does give a clue to 1 player being back there but 2 ? especially that our central defender gives the money pass. It's hard to make out players so might just be camera angle.

they did play a few long balls in the match against welly, as well as playing it to feet on the ground. i liked that they were mixing it up to be honest

Yeah, tbh I'm not stressed about the long-ball... It shouldn't be a target for playing style, but I think it was just another one of the things that were missing last season - and the season before tbh... Micky Neill may not have set the world on fire, but some of the problems that he got into looked to me like they were caused by an instruction to always play out and so, putting us under pressure trying to handle the ball.

So while it might not look ideal that both of the goals came from long-distance lobs and one was a decided long ball, I choose to see it as a sign that the boys' vision has improved drastically, allowing them to take advantage of these situations when they present - that's a definite sign of improvement already.

You'd have to be hard pressed describing the second goal as a long distance lob? He's only just outside the square. Its an attacking pass to head. Like a cross.

Yeah that's fair - i got sort of caught up on both lobs. You see so few and we had two in a game :)

Tactical to counter the high line?
Also we caught Thomas out of position out to far
