ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

ooh i don't know . monty is the master of taking the piss out of the refs and APL .
ie faghani is a safety issue .

Still can’t say what he really wants to say so his comments have to be behind all this subterfuge. I find the pressers very boring partly because of this and partly because of the banality of the questions being asked by the media.

I miss the days of Branko Culina or John Kosmina blowing up at anything and everything including the media.

I think an old school toe poke would be his best friend in one on ones. The one he put near the traveling fans wouldn’t have counted as there was like 3 rugby tackles in the lead up but missing that bad shows he needs work but i think he can be good
He needs to watch a few indoor football games Brazillian if possible…

Agree with Mick. Doesn’t have to have the smarts of central midfielder or temperament of a defender. And he actually already makes good runs.

What's left for a player like him to learn can definitely come with experience and good coaching I think.
As I've said previously, its much easier to build an athlete than a footballer. At 19 he has some improvement and I think monty, serge and andy can get some but I wouldn't expect him to become a JC level finisher.

I think he might become a rich man's Mileusnic.

Mileusnic...

Now there's a player I expected to develop into something special. What happened?

I reckon he has the capacity to be a Barbarouses level sort of player. Short unsuccessful stint overseas and then a decent slightly above average A-League career.

He certainly has a real talent for butchering goals, fast and knows how to get into the right positions but man I couldn't stand supporting a team if he was in the roster. I laugh when I see him as the Roars lone striker since Austin departed. With him and Riku they would have the worst conversion rate in the league (haven't looked at actual stats).

Conner and Trent are similar to Ruhs in that their on the field because of the pace they provide, the difference I feel is that Trent and Conner seem to want to try and get around and behind opposition using raw pace to , Ruhs (although not completely comfortable with the idea) drives more directly from deeper position in to the defensive line, I think it makes him more of an attacking threat in structured build ups.

Ruhs

In the broadest sense you can divide Football into three core technical skills, two physical aspects, and the head space...

The head space is the dog in the fight, not the size of the dog in the fight... the physical aspects are speed and strength.

on the technical side of things, their is basic ball skill i.e touch.... next is shape i.e. knowing were to be and when to be there and when and how to move to cover space and move into position... decision making i.e what to do next especially with the ball / goal scoring opp coming or need to defend..

Ruhs has the physical aspects he is fast and strong, his head seems to be there and he does not mind mixing it...

His touch and decision making are his problem areas needing improvement... he is 19 ... for me he needs game time as much as anything else to improve both his touch and decision making...

My solution would be a loan deal to a club we can trust with good coaching staff... say Blacktown City ...

Unlike Trent he knows were to go and when to go, and he also seems to understand his defensive role...

Ruhs IMO is the product of being big and fast and his junior coaches bagging long balls into spaces he could run into... you see it every weekend... a result me thinks of coaches not knowing how to coach defence so lazy attack methods work over more technical attacking methods...

I recall an interview with Ange when he was first at the Roar and he for two years had all training and excises done with the ball at their feet... ie laps of the park ball at feet as an example... he simply said his places did not have the touch and feel for the ball they should...

As I said he needs game time... but maybe not at the expense of a div one team...

i think ruhs failings are over stated . he is a better player then buhagiar or sotirio , today .
he needs game time and quality mariners coaching , thats all .
I tend to agree. I think if he gets a goal or two that were totally him rather than the odd tap in then his confidence will improve. His record at NPL is impressive - just needs to find the next level. And you can't do that without adequate minutes.
