ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Cup tying players who played in the pre round of 32 stages at the end of last season is stupid. You either need to play them after the break or not tie them.
Yes it is interesting that those playoff games cup tie you so far back and in the previous season. I can only assume that Cup qualifying matches are already taking place for this to be a valid reason and if that is the case then so be it. I noted Silvera was cup tied as well.

Hopefully last season was a one off and the play off games can be played a week or two ahead of the round of 32 in future. Would solve an issue that isnt going to go away for AL sides.

I think it's fair and reasonable, should someone who came last in the A league be gifted that much time to improve their squad to qualify for the Cup? It's a risk you take when signing A league players from other clubs, as long as it the same for everyone so be it. Them the rules.

Seems arbitrary and silly to me. In round of 32 maybe its no big deal but it was bad enough when we couldnt play cummings in the final last year on a technicality. At the final stages you want to see the best contest possible not one deprived of players because their old club made them play in a play off before their contract finished. It could actually give an advantage to that lower placed team if they make it through and deprive their opponent of a new signing playing.

One of the KPI's they are after is 8000 crowd for each home game....they aint gonna get that in little old Mudgee.
The key to getting the crowd numbers up for mine is the school and the club visits.
Let the players get to know the kids, hand out passes for the kids and tell them to ensure the parents take them to the games.
Raffle a bike or something with draw at half time, you have to be there to win.

Also, don`t have 3 weeks of away games in a row. That kills the crowds on the 4th weekend unless we play WSW or Sydney...

I think the Club needs to play hardball with the APL in regards to fixturing.

We routinely get the worst time slots and rarely if ever the free to air broadcast.

Shaun said a while back that we get two changes when the fixture gets decided and we have to use one for the New Year's Eve Clash every year. That should always be a given and not something we have to fight for. I am sure City have never had to argue for their Christmas Derby with Victory.

The APL regularly makes changes that actively make the playing field unequal in playing terms. The cap barely exists anymore and what exists does not seemed to be enforced. When we agree to this decisions, that actively disadvantage us, we should be getting something out it.

1 of the defenders already in the country.
Aside from Rogic making a slightly unexpected switch to CB, other players already mentioned who may be in the country include Micheal Jakobsen, Dylan Fox and.......Ziggy McSnake.

Discounted the snake suggestions initially but getting a bit nervous now. Based on the FNR interview, Peil seems very tight with the snakes agent (Paddy Dominguez). Dominguez is the agent for Faz and Steely who have just signed 3 year deals, I hope offering a deal to the snake wasn't part of the sweetener for getting their deals over the line.
