ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Watching the bay from our media box in the second half, I was very proud. Gave me flashbacks to years gone by of midweek ACL games where we were not huge in numbers but we were f**kin loud and everyone in the bay knew what they were there for.
Huge, huge props to everyone involved, particularly Jimmy - it’s hard to put into words how much difference it makes having a great drummer in there who can really set the tempo, as well as lending his experience and guidance to some of the kids.
I had a big case of FOMO tonight not being in there that’s for sure, but seriously well done to everyone involved. The academy kids getting around it in bay 16 also deserve a shout out!

Cheers brother.
I do miss having you in the stands with me to enjoy the good times after so many years singing our hearts out, only to be let down by a NPL level squad.

I thought about it last night. And it'd be pretty damn close to having done it for half my life now ?
A real sense of getting old when there's players now joining the A-league that weren't born when the Mariners first kicked off.

We may not have the numbers in Bay 16 that we used to. But we still have the passion and unconditional love for the club, even when we're mad we still care about it.

Would love to see more people come into the bay, bring banners and flags etc. But, I know it's getting harder to do as life gets busier.

I'm super proud of the fans that gathered in the corner for the photo and sang the No One Rates Us chant.
Something I came up with in 2011 whilst bored at work and trying to get rid of an ear worm that was the melody.

Don’t think anyone is avoiding the Ollie situation. It’s just there is no information about. Everyone has been tight lipped.

What we know:
Ollie, Matty and Cy trained with the academy when the team was away so it is not sickness or injury

Rumour:
- bust up with Monty.
- Ollie has a clause in his contract that will trigger an extension if he plays a minimum amount of games this season and Monty (Ken or Charlesworth) doesn’t want that trigger.

Wild speculation:
- Monty has currently (and in the academy) enough DMs. Given his very limited budget and that Ollie is the highest paid player in the club, Monty (Ken or Charlesworth) wants to invest in other areas of the park.
- With all these young players coming on there will certainly be interest from other clubs. Monty (Charlesworth or Ken) needs the money to retain some of these players on higher wages.
- Monty has had a frank conversation with Ollie about recent performances and that hasn’t gone down well.
The fact there is no info is the key factor, when things are kept quiet it's generally because they are not pleasant. I feel your wild speculation is more on the mark. Like I said he used to post on Insta all the time about upcoming matches, results etc. Now there is nothing. I've seen him promoting a gym on the coast and I wonder if that is for after football and he either owns it or has invested in it. Perhaps wants to go to the India Superannuation League or Mid East for a pay day before he hangs up the boots.

He isn't even on the bench when not injured or ill so the contract trigger makes sense. Maybe there will be a cameo from Simon and Oli towards the end of the season.

Anyone understand exactly what's gone wrong with Mad Eyes?

He was (with Niz) pretty much my MOTM last night.
I don't think Mad Eyes is the easiest player to manage, Monty has hinted at a few issues with him. He said something along the lines of nothing is easy with Lewis in an interview some time back.

I think the boy has some talent however if he clashes with Monty this may be what brings his career undone. Lets see how he goes with all the ego's at the Meth Cows. Could be a disaster for him.

Last night Cy was interviewed at half time and he said he only returned to full training yesterday from an injury.

If a player is not fitting in then he must go, especially in a squad like ours, no matter his quality or potential.
I need to watch the replay but was not as impressed with him as others here, early in the game. Later I thought he was good.
You see things differently depending on where you sit.

I was particularly impressed by the defensive and the defensive cover work done by Beni when Lewis was caught out of position. I feel that gets lost when people have the good Beni / bad Beni debate. To me it is almost always good Beni as a whole because of his defensive work.

I'm gunna try and avoid throwing fuel on the fire about the Ollie situation as what i have heard from from secondary sources ain't good.

Will say, it is looking more and more likely he ain't gunna play for us again, and there is talk the Wanderers are looking, wont say this is positive or negative, just what the second-hand sources are saying.

I would be sad to see Ollie leave. He galvanised the team last year, led by example and made everyone believe that we could go far. Early this season he again took on a huge burden in midfield. His willingness to shoot from distance kept defenders guessing. That being said, there is no denying that the team has had a form slump in recent times [which has thankfully been reversed]. I'm not saying the reversal is due to his absence-there may be a number of factors at play. In any case we are playing very well without him, and he is no longer an integral part of the team. I would prefer to sign longer contracts with players who ARE crucial to our success such as Nizzie, Smith, Fazz, Birra, Kye, Urena and Sea Dog. Even Crazy Eyes if he can pull his head in. If he cant then Hall has shown he is also a useful RB

Whatever's gone down and how it ultimately pans out, Ollie will always be a club legend. As is Matty Simon (and see how we shafted him along the way). It's hard to imagine a better legend CV, local junior, many years of service in multiple stints, the captaincy, contributed to a Championship, a Premiership and scored a euphoria-inducing goal another grand-final (I know, I know...) and national team / World Cup.

I fully respect the people that know what's the best for the team at the moment but if we don't see him in Yellow and Navy again I'll definitely wish him a great future, and hope he knows that fans like this one will always celebrate him.

On the Ollie saga.... maybe we should let it slide a bit... wait a couple of weeks for the club to say something

If as has been suggested he is not being played to prevent a resign clause in his contract, then getting older players to sign in the future will be hard...

He could walk into any of the other clubs as a starting player so it would be easy to offload him if that was the call so I doubt the reason is to ensure his contract is not extended... Cows WSW would take him in a flash so personally I don't see that is the reason...

My neighbour who's had a membership and come along with me only in the last 5 years said last night he REALLY enjoyed that! I was thinking later that's the first time he's experienced such Mariners domination, having come on board post-glory days and stuck-in through some low times! I so respect that.
(I enjoyed it too but in spite of Beni and Garang's magic it is further down my CCM memories hit parade).

I'm with you on letting it slide, just don't like seeing possibly misguided hope, and the resulting anger.
I'll wait for a club statement.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
