Saturday night 7:45pm and probable local football washouts on Saturday and Sunday.

There will be plenty of juiced up punters, including myself.

Koul has the look of a striker of real class.... he looks so so so so so balanced he runs like Harry ... he slides more than runs.... combine balance and speed if the boy got a shot and stays clam he could come on in a big game and score ... just lovely to watch.... he could be anything...
Spot on and also looks to have great control in tight situations. The limited amount I have seen of both him and Teng, I would say there is a very real chance that Alou will turn out to be only the 3rd best Kuol to play for the Mariners

Last night was a special night at CCS and it is such a shame that only 2,800 people were there to see it. I get that it was a school night and all that but Coasties really need to wake up to the fact that they have a great team representing our region at the moment and should be getting behind them as much as possible.

That said, the crowd last was vocal and passionate last night and it’s so good to hear noise coming from the active in Bay 16 again, so well done to all those involved, we love having you back.

The Sydney game could make or break our finals run imho, win and our momentum almost becomes unstoppable and our credentials validated. Lose and it takes some steam out of our progress and puts added pressure on the remaining games. Hopefully the boys will be able to handle every game from here on effectively being a final and build into the finals proper with real belief.

COYY! ??

Everyone avoiding the Oli situation. I may get shot down but we are not missing him at all and I don't see how he can fit back into the team at the moment based on form. During our slump when we had a non existent midfield where our attack was getting no service and we were conceding late goals Oli was the leader of our midfield.

Now we have Niz and Balard both growing into the midfield and getting better every game, the attack are getting service and we are scoring goals at will and also the defence has tightened and we are regaining confidence of not conceding in injury time and look solid at the back again. Balard has improved massively and maybe it's because he doesn't have Oli next to him so he is backing himself and not just relying on Oli.

Monty had to do something about the slump and it was clear to everyone on here it was our midfield that was letting the team down. That has now been fixed and Oli has nothing to do with it. I follow Oli on insta and he has been very quiet the last month and he was always posting on games, results etc, there has been nothing from him about last nights game as an example. Looks like a jaded man and unfortunately for him the team as a whole is playing better without him. I feel the team is better for having him around however there is clearly something going on. He didn't look all that happy when the camera panned to him and Simon sitting in the stands. Maybe because they were schooling the Nix without him.

Don’t think anyone is avoiding the Ollie situation. It’s just there is no information about. Everyone has been tight lipped.

What we know:
Ollie, Matty and Cy trained with the academy when the team was away so it is not sickness or injury

Rumour:
- bust up with Monty.
- Ollie has a clause in his contract that will trigger an extension if he plays a minimum amount of games this season and Monty (Ken or Charlesworth) doesn’t want that trigger.

Wild speculation:
- Monty has currently (and in the academy) enough DMs. Given his very limited budget and that Ollie is the highest paid player in the club, Monty (Ken or Charlesworth) wants to invest in other areas of the park.
- With all these young players coming on there will certainly be interest from other clubs. Monty (Charlesworth or Ken) needs the money to retain some of these players on higher wages.
- Monty has had a frank conversation with Ollie about recent performances and that hasn’t gone down well.

the ollie question is simple .he starts from the bench .
our shit february form was not all his fault .
ollie can play 10 8 6 and CB . onto saturday
Agreed. In the first window of play before covid hit the squad we were in form and winning well - with Oli playing a big role.
I suspect whatever is going on it is not lack of form keeping him out. I am genuinely curious as to what is happening there.

Either way a bench spot needs to be his returning spot based on the form of others (injury or resting players aside). Niz is a legend and Balard has really grown into the role.

All makes sense and fact that the young players have stepped up to the plate and bringing high energy and the loss of Miller on the right side we can invest that money on strengthening other holes at end of the day it's business and the new model of the club.

. this would have been my stab at it (but i wouldn't have mentioned the training and possible bust-up) - but you have summarised it better than i could have. I also would have added that perhaps there is some resistance from the Oli side to not trigger the clause (so he can push for a (last?) big contract elsewhere)

. a simple way of looking at is: Nizzy is more valuable to our club and renewing Oli's contract at full value may, therefore, not be in the club's best interests

I had thought Ollie looked tired in his last few games. Maybe he has decided it is time to retire (or move on) but has not made the announcement in case he is needed before the end of the season due to injuries etc. There is not a lot of backup for Nizz and Maxie who are both filling the centre midfield excellently.
Hopefully if this is the case and we are comfortably in the 6 during our last home game he and Matty can have farewell appearance together.

. we have a lot of kids worthy of upgrades ... and that funding needs to come from somewhere

. unfortunately we are going to miss out on some that we would like to keep ... it's sad to be back in this situation but it is also far better than the alternative
