ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Vic is 51k because we report positive RAT results online now. So, probably just revealing the hidden cases
Someone told me NSW were going to do the same from Wednesday (?) next week.

Which is kind of strange. The pollies have been telling us we should be concentrating more on the hospital / ICU numbers and yet they want everyone to report their RAT tests.
So one day the number of cases don't matter and now all of a sudden they do.

Well the numbers of positive results are still going to help forecast likely hospital admissions, as well as keep an eye on the spread. Those are definitely important.

Sure, the case numbers themselves aren't the direct concern, but they're still useful

I would imagine we'd have an obligation to report numbers to the WHO too surely? If so, there's another reason to keep track of them

Daughter and I PCR tested on Friday, still no results. Anyone here had a recent test to indicate timeframe?

Each testing facility is different with different testing setups and working hours.

I did one at Wyong on Sunday at 8am and got the results back that night!

But before Xmas did one at Tuggerah on a Friday and didn’t get back until following Tue/Wed.

So pretty different based on 2/3 factors plus staffing now as well.

Interesting I went to Gosford hospital on Sunday and they said 10days to get your results so don’t bother and here is a free rapid test and just use that.

I would have assumed the hospital would be using the onsite lab and would be quick (they were earlier in the pandemic)

Wife is positive from a rat test. Didn’t even need the 15min wait it was positive instantly. She is worse than me with pretty much a chest cold.

Me however was negative but i have some small symptoms so probably go positive in a couple of days

Good luck all

If it helps anyone the testing drive through at Rathmines is pretty much no wait and results within 24 hours since the changes to pcr requirements came in

About a 40 min drive north from the centre of excellence for reference, but better than sitting for hours in a queue and waiting days or weeks for results

Radio reporting that the RAT tests are basically rubbish and only the PCR tests do the job....and even worse the RAT tests might not even pick up Omicron.

One of my staff turned up on Friday looking like absolute shite....i sent her too Adcock park to get a test. Her hubby also reported feeling bad ( I rang him coz my staff's English wasn't helping me) and he told me we both testing negative on a RAT test but i'm telling you we have Covid.
Sunday they did another RAT test and this time it showed up positive. Tuesday morning Hubby got a positive result and so far my staff still hadn't received notification.
She told me today...." i will come back to work because I need money (no Govt result...no payment) I told her you cannot come back until you test negative......what a f**king joke....she cant even get a positive result lol!

You can now register positive RATs: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/register-positive-rapid-antigen-test-result

Literally go to the TGA website and you find which ones are approved and their sensitivity to sars.

RAT by nature need a higher level of viral load to detect. So they don't detect as well as PCR tests.
