The Smurfs are in Town aka Round 18 vs SFC

What a game, what a crowd, and what a pass...

Hand on heart not the other thing I think Olly may be playing himself into Socceroo consideration...

My dislike of SFC is huge in fact I despise them more than the Jerks... so losing because of a way-wood pass just hurt deep down ...

On the match....

Hall arguably the best start for a player in his position I have seen in a long time...

Nizzy ..... hard to argue he is not the best ..box to box.. mid in the league...

There is so much that can be written about the match... but for me leaving Koul on the bench for so long was a mistake .. others have explained in detail why...

As the match drew to a close in the final say 15 minutes both sides tired from what had been a very quick game, and the space between the front line and the back line widen and the game opened up. .... telling as with a tad more fitness if a team can keep the lines closer they should be about to dominate the last quarter of a match... old theory run them off their feet and then hit hard with speed and running at the end...

This is a very even league with any side capable of winning any game... aside from MC and maybe SFC with Bobo & AFL as there new strikers up front we are as good as anyone...

So just watched the replay late last night. Another Rowles error put us in trouble. I think that's 3 or 4 big errors that have cost us goals this year.

Alou came on too late.

Pity about Hall but I'm glad to see Miller get a run. Rate both highly.

1 win in 7 games, not what we want but we're lucky citeh, reds and smurfs are all off the boil too

All in all a draw is a fair result. We had our opportunities but let them have too much possession. And they couldn't make it count.

I dont think they'll play ALF & Bobo together in most situations, they'll want the pace of Kosta up front to make trouble & opportunities for the striker to finish off. Corica isnt one to change the formation and I dont see Kosta slotting back in and doing the work of say Caceres or Baumjohann who has definitely earned a starting spot.

If Corica stops simply using the formula Arnie left him he'll get found out

The circumstances behind Matty’s departure to SFC were not CCM’s finest hour by any stretch of the imagination for those that know the truth behind it and preceded the utter failure of Tony (trust me I’m the man) Walmsley’s tenure as head coach and the dressing room revolt that came with it.

Because of this, I can forgive Simmo for venting his displeasure by celebrating that goal, although I also get why it got under many folk’s skin. He is still CCM’s all-time top scorer and clearly loves the club, whilst also being a big part of why our fortunes have been greatly improved this season.

Just got round to watching the game on replay last night and my hatred for Bozza has now lifted to a new level, after seeing vision of him showing the Bobo offside to Corica and saying how wrong the decision was.

Strange that he wasn’t quite as vocal about the blatant body check on DDS in the SFC penalty area in the 7th minute. I was still queuing up for a beer when that happened and was shocked at how there was no spot kick awarded, given how King absolutely flattens DDS by running directly across his line.

I was already wanting to punch Bozza in the throat after hearing the nonce say he shirt-fronted Strebre Delovski before the Fire Chickens game about how the VAR got the Bobo offside decision wrong FFS!

Dear Fox Sports, can you please do us all a favour and employ some commentators who don’t display such obvious bias towards certain teams, thanks.

Explanation from the Professional Football Referees Association (ok maybe not an unbiased party) website as to why the decision to disallow the first half goal was correct.

Up yours Corica
Corica maintained Rowles played at it. Haven’t seen a replay. What do people think?

Edit* ok sounds like he didn’t. Is it clear?

Because like OH I couldn't believe Bosnich was using the Wellington game as an opportunity to signal to Sydney fans how awesome he is. Knows where his breads buttered I suspect.

Yes, Rowles played at the ball but it was deemed “a save” therefore the offside was a correct call. Please see the link below and read the law about what constitutes a save.

The bellends at Fox are clueless and need to brush up on the laws before making comments.

Thanks Mick, that explains perfectly why Bobo was correctly ruled offside, so if you happen to have Bozza and Corica’s e-mail addresses, could you possibly forward it to them to get them to stop whingeing about SFC being screwed over.

While you are at it, could you send them a replay of our Adelaide away game, so they know exactly what being screwed over by VAR looks like and then they might shut the fk up.

The PFRA website in the link further up called it differently; the crux was that because the time and distance between the pass and Kye's contact was so short, the contact was considered a reflex reaction rather than a deliberate action. Therefore it was considered a rebound or deflection not a deliberate play.

Ironically the link to the PFRA analysis was tweeted by Bosnich, although he somehow forgot to include his apology for being a complete dick on the subject previously

Even the commentators straight up ignored this. It was a shout for a pen I thought, and at least deserved to be reviewed

If anyone watched the Sydney v Victory game there was a point where Peacock actually asked Bozza if he was worried because Sydney were only 1-0 up and Victory were getting some chances. Couldnt believe what I was hearing - it was completely blatant and no attempt to hide he was supporting Sydney.
