ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Big Blue was not that long ago challenging to be the top club sporting contest in Australia.

These numbers don't look good

MV V SFC - 5347
WU v MC @ AAMI - 6104
CCM v AU - 5053
MAC v PG - 3724
BR v WSW - 4952

makes us look good.......as we always have when a decent product has been on offer.

Pikey took the piss for a fair few years and we lost alot of support....but the boys are a good thing again.

Just wondering whether Shaun has any updates for us on the proposed sale of the club considering the awful rumours floated today about a potential takeover and relocation by Manchester United.

Thought he was pretty clear on Twitter - "its just all noise"

. recent media thinktank - for the derby-league where every game needs to be billed as a derby:
  • so now we have the two prominent teams in the league as Mariners and Heart what are we going to call the match-up?
  • oh, i know ... the Manchester derby
  • but only one of them is owned by Manchester
  • details, details ... lets just run a story about a take-over
  • brilliant!

Recky,
Where is that picture of us after the game?
All the Wanderers fan kept asking me if the RRB did it (bandages).....mildly funny, the first 5 times.

What were you doing on this day 8 years ago? I remember it well...! Let's hope we can repeat at last.

What was I doing.... hahaha, I remember the day like it was yesterday.

I woke up next to the ugliest thing to have ever set foot in the slyfox (a lesbian den in enmore). She was around 55, 130 kg, grey shot hair crew cut, 2 front teeth you could park matty Ryan in the middle of.

I pushed her out the door after hitting it one more time claiming an emergency while gettin into me jersey. I claim to this day she was the lucky charm I had to work with.

I Remember travelling to the stadium, by the time I got there I was starting to get sauced, pre drinks, mates house in Surry Hills than to the fake Irish pub.

Remember rocking up and hearing the chanting at the pub, got f**kin loose. Remember ripping off me shirt before for we even entered the stadium.

I Remember the game, remembered being in the beer line at around the 40th min, thinking I was a f**kin genius as I'd miss the HT rush.
Remember turning around with 4 beers and seeing a flying Dutchman put away a textbook header on the telly. I remember celebrating with a beer shower in the concourse, I remember lining back up.

I remember a hand ball, and the Golden (Oldie) Boot winner slotting the Pen. I was uncontrollable in hugging my bro, so much so we fell the family behind us.

I remember the reverse Poznanz from the RBB when our boys collected their gongs (such disrespect).
I remember drinking with RBB members after it, commiserating them, saying it just wasn't their day, and that they'd win the next one, while hoping they'd have to wait like we had to (and they're still waiting).

I remember saying to my missus on my wedding day 5 years later, it was second greatest day of my life, and I still believe it, my wedding day comes a close second to that day.

I remember getting on the train to Central at 9 (with some roadies to keep me company) Into the pub until kick off, serenading the turncoats walking past with "you swapped sky blue for red and black"
Sweating men piling on top of me when we scored and when we won (those of us who were at the game that never happened were beside ourselves)
I rememeber "we are the champions" in the pub post game then back to the Coast to sing and chant outside the ground...........
Gets a bit blurry after that TBH

@Shaun Mielekamp Hi mate, serious question

One of the reasons that Perez from Madrid gave for wanting to start a Super League was that 18-24yo's didnt want to attend football anymore.
While that isnt any sort of excuse for what he tried to do, it made me think that are younger people less likely to be engaged with football?

Is this a factor the club have in their marketing strategies?

What a day that was, I was so sure it was finally our turn to win the big dance despite the disappointments that had gone before.

What a great atmosphere pre-game at the pub, where everyone was buzzing. I remember queuing up for (yet another) beer and chatting to another fan who asked me who my favourite player was, to which I answered Trent Sainsbury. It subsequently turned out I was unknowingly speaking with his Dad, so I took that to be a good omen!

In typical Mariners’ fashion, it was a bit of an emotional roller coaster during the game but the noise from our fans was immense and I remember the feeling of sheer euphoria when that final whistle sounded was accompanied by the sense of a huge weight being lifted off all our shoulders.

These are the days that make being a fan worth all the dark and difficult times and why we should never give up on our team, ever.

Hey FFC Mariner
Apologies for the delay its been a busy time.
Yes there is a very high awareness for us that the 18-24yr male is a gap in our fan base specifically. Otherclubs not soo much and the A-League is much higher % than other codes.
Its not that this market isnt engaged just that this market consumes football in a much different fashion. they stream, they watch just the highlights, they watch 2-3 things at the same time and most of all they socialise online now rather than in person.
Mariners TV has been a big strategic learning for us in this space - some episodes are really high rating and others are quiet. Timing is everything.
The best thing we can do for this market is help Gosford become a social destination for this age group - a quality Mariners Pub in Gosford is a definite aim. We are a long way away but it is not off the table by any means.
