ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

Does anyone know if the club is doing any streamables content? If you dunno what that is, it's just highlight clips.
Its everywhere for US sport and I'll just browse a days worth of clips for MLB and NBA.

Having just watched Victory being smashed by City 7 nil brings back memories of those two games we lost to the Jets and Wellington by cricket scores. The Victory players looked as if they didn't care in the last 10 minutes and this was reminiscent of how many of our players appeared in those catastrophes. How things have changed for both clubs.

What would the wonderful SFC be without Bobo, probably lingering around the bottom of ladder. We have to mark the crap out of the guy just as we did with that other legend in is own mind Barisha, that's the second time we shut have him out. Dont get me wrong I do appreciate both of thier previous brilliance but they are both fading stars, like red dwarfs inevitably becoming white dwarfs.

Thank good Berisha is fading. Didn't they say yesterday he's scored more goals against us than any other player or something like that anyway.

Yes I was glad he didn’t score against us yesterday, it’s like 21 goals in 25 games. Bobo whilst he did well today he us not the player of a few seasons ago.

The real test of the season is about to begin. Everyone is hitting there straps, our early season fitness is no longer an advantage and worst of all, the clear and obvious tactic of shutting down Olis ability to play between the centre backs and dictate tempo is well known tk opposition coaches and becoming our Achilles heel.

100%. Time to make some subtle adjustments to plan A. Use Niz and Oli in a dual role. If Oli is getting tagged, then Niz play that role for a bit.
Get some pace up front if the high press is going to happen. That means Alou.
Stop Nigro and Clisby going for a smoke and pie upfield, unless you're going to backfill that position.

Yes not major changes just enough to keep the other Manager guessing. We have probably had the most consistent starting 11 of any team and it has helped oppositions with tactics to nullify our dangerous players.

What are people's thoughts on adjustments? Especially this late in the season.

I think a 4-4-2 Diamond would be interesting.

Nigro Tongyik Rowles Clisby
Bouznic
Nisbet Stensness
De Silva
Kuol Urena

Fullbacks pushing forward for width

I dont think we need to change too much. Start Kuol, the midfield is ok if it's DDS, Bozanic, Stensness and Bouman but if I was going to swap one of them it would be Bouman for Nisbet and put Bouman up front as a sub partner him with Simon or younger legs (Smylie/Hatch/etc..) depending on the situation. That said Nisbet has been big as an impact player too.

Main issue seems to be getting caught in the same patterns and Kuol gives us a hit of speed to keep teams guessing if the long ball is on.
