ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Someone on here previously compared Kye to Sainsbury, but he reminds me of Alex Wilkinson. Nothing fussy, reads the game well, right place at the right time and low error rate.

I think he and Ruon complement each other suberbly - Ruon the "enforcer" and sometimes taking a bit of a risk, and Kye smooth, risk-free and cleaning everything up.

The only downside is that the best Academy/Youth centre back we have had since Sainsbury can't get a look in
That was me. I've said a few times that Rowles, while captain of the Joeys, reminded me of Sainsbury. But you're right, he's changed his game and he IS a bit like Wilko.

Tongyik is the new Sainsbury.

I lurked on the AU forum earlier today.General consensus that we deserved the win and that the penalties were justified so credit to their fans. Maybe they felt justice had been done following the first game.Remember we also outplayed them in that game but we couldn't beat Kurt Ams and the VAR idiot.

Ok, I am going to disagree again. I think the key point of difference with Sainsbury was the range and quality of his passing game. Neither Kye or Ruon has this. (Kye knows and plays accordingly, Ruon sometimes forgets.)

Then again, I thought Michael Glassock was potentially the new Saintsbury coming through the youth and couldn't understand why he didn't get a crack, so shows what I know about centre half play

I would swap Nizzy for Bouman and Alou for Matty. Matty to come on for the last 25mins.

Stens was very shonky to start with but will be better for that game.
I agree to a certain extent.

I think Bouman is more a #10 and possibly a striker to feed off Urena rather than a winger. A couple of times last night Bouman had difficulty reading some of Urena one touches. Hopefully that will come with experience.
Both Urena and Bouman were caught offside by Adelaide backs stepping up. Both need more experience playing up front against a high defence. I suspect the instructions to all our forwards was to play off the defender's shoulder but they got a little enthusiastic and Adelaide were willing to risk them springing the offside trap. It was an interesting battle all through the first half.

Nizzy could probably play any position on the park, but he is a midfielder. I got the impression last night that when he came on and Bouman moved forward he was playing more tucked in both in attack and defence. This allowed him to terrorise their mids. I think he has to wait for Ollie to have a break to play in his correct position. However, as wasteful as it may seem, I loved seeing him coming on at 60 min and winning the game for us.

I will have to watch the replay to make sure I understood the positions after the subs.

Ruon definitely has the Sainsbury passing game and is getting more confident going forward.

Just like Sainsbury.

yeah i like this . i think it helps dds , as he's required to do all the magic in the midfield.
as another punter has said ."we have probably 13 guys that deserve to be starters" .
i believe if we started kuol against the tards .we probably win 7-1 .
we lack pace in the pointy end and with urena's wizardry . we would have most teams .
packing up and going home before half time .

I thought Ams was the VAR idiot to Fielding's on-field moron...

Besides, Kuol would be absolutely mad to go to Germany.

They wouldn't understand his nickname (Tiger).

Probably - but a lot of the people we carry on about in Australia, like Arzani, Mooy, McGree etc are a dime a dozen in Europe. Alou's point of difference is his speed and power - not his 'skill'.
i think they would see some commercial value to him as well, his personality makes him an easy fan favourite and potential jersey seller
