CCM vs Nix Away Match Week 8

DDS and Niz are showing an understanding of each other's movement and positioning that makes them a dangerous combination. The same can't be said for Janota and either of them combined. Personally i think Janota has been fairly ordinary so far.

I thought Urena was over the hill watching him the first few games. What's becoming clear is we are a very fit team and he isn't up to snuff...yet. As his fitness improves and he settles into his place in the team his quality is showing through. Appears to be improving faster than Janota. I wonder if language skills are playing a part?

It's a conspiracy against us for sure. Probably Sydney have financed it. Yep.
From Reddit I believe the Smurfs were told no singing / chanting and sit down when they played Macarthur the other week. They were complaining about WSW were getting away with it.

Despite what Janota is being allegedly paid, his output doesnt warrant a start over Niz. If Niz has a knock fair enough but Niz did nothing to lose his spot other than get a knock. And if fit he has earned the start. Alou is in the same spot BUT Urena has earned his start.
I'd like to see Bouman or/and Kuol get the chance to benefit from Urena's vision however mattys finish yesterday was a flashback. If he keeps that up......

Missing the point. Its open slather on Aussies but immigrants are a protected species. I think thats the point they are trying to make.
Who cares, the Filth were stupid and Sean just upped his reputation.

Ok, but regardless of whether TB was just taking the piss, or if he was claiming systemic racism, (which I think from all his posts he is) personally, I’m sick to death of politics being jammed into everything all the time. As I guess this shows. Not necessary, and too f**king divisive. I just want to talk football. Especially on here, and especially of all times, now.

I can't understand how MIller gets any time at all as a full back. He ain't one. He's a centreback.
Agreed, I was hanging for Dan Hall to be given a shot yesterday and was more than a little miffed to see Miller bought on. Not anti-Miller, as I have always had the view that he is a CB being shoe-horned in as a FB.

Whilst the same could be said for Hall, what I saw of him in the NPL suggests that he has more mobility and better ball control, so I believe he is worth a go in that position if needed.

It is a lot easier to make an impact as a sub than as a starter. Not only can the player pack his energy into a shorter spell, but the opposition are tired. For me Nizz suits the sub role at present.
I sense bias towards the academy grads.
I promise I have zero bias. It wasn’t his energy off the bench that is making the difference. Imo he’s clearly reading the game better, playing better balls, and getting himself into excellent positions between the lines.

I like Janota. Love him to have greater impact than Nisbet someday soon, But if you took every highlight of both players for this season Nizz would come out a long way ahead. Also he doesn’t just look fitter because of being a sub. Every player is understandably fitter than our visa signings right now. That’s pretty clear. And not something you can blame anyone for. Just a fact.

Yeah I thought Nigro clearly struggled a bit yesterday early on. But then Miller looks so in his head. I still actually like Miller as a player. He had some great games for us last season and is very young, Nigro has a very good head on his shoulders. But does not offer much going forward and is not overly strong or fast, I wish Hall was a right back. Anyone ever see him play there?

Othwrwise the only way he’s going to get any real game time is via injury.

I assumed that Staj was showing Miller he still had faith in him even though his performances so far haven't forced him into the squad, certainly beyond the bench.
A bit of man management there, we were two goals up with little risk.
Hall will get his shot and wouldn't be spending his time on the splinters wondering if the gaffer had lost belief in him like Miller might have.

nizzy is one of the best midfielders in the A-league . bar shooting ,the best .
so comparing janota is unfair ,the guy isn't fit to staj standard yet.
some people are forgetting we finished last with 13 points in 2019 and last with 18 points
in 2020 .(what we already have today) .
we have a team where we're not desperate to play guys injured .this is important
come finals time ,god willing we're still in contention .
in staj we trust

Saw something at the match which I am going to say is a big deal... because its different to previous years..

Its about DDS ... but it seems to run thu the squad...

Near the end of the match DDS was subbed...

DDS came off and Staj was giving final instructions and encouragement to his replacement...

DDS came off quickly and his replacement was kinda between DDS & Staj...

DDS waited ... did not go to his seat...

When Staj was free DDS wanted to do a high five with Staj .... further it seemed DDS wanted to both thank Staj and seek his well done mate or similar...

Essentially DDS held back, allowed Staj to finish, did not go to his seat until he thanked his coach and sort his comment...

Personally I think its a big deal... DDS could have gone straight to his seat rather than wait the 10 to 15 seconds to make connection with Staj...

To me that shows a coach who has the full confidence of his playing squad...

Compare to Robbie Kruse who refused to take the hand of his coach when subbed in MV's last game..

Yeah it absolutely seems Staj has cracked the DDS code. Hes inside DDS' head and he's absolutely flourishing this year. There were some moments in the match where he did his Hoolesque thing but it'll take time to train that always run with the ball part of his game out of him. Would be thrilled to see him get a crack at the Roo's squad.

Squad wide there is definitely a culture change to what we've been whinging about wanting for more than a few years.

I also think that those hoolesque moments can turn amazing with DDS in this mood and form. He has turned and passed players like they were standing still and they are flashes of brilliance. I'm more willing to see those moments now that they are sprinkled between moving the ball on fast and solid defence. It's a surprise when he does it and he definitely has the skill to do it he's just not so predictable any more.

Also DDS was the first one to have a crack at ball for his bad tackle on Matt. He was was followed by Stens and a couple more. In the previous couple of years no one has cared about a teammate being fouled and just mooped around. Great to see them stick up for each other. That shows great team spirit
