I was telling my mate who is a Smurf supporter that Barbarouses is the the most overrated player and his touch is just rubbish. Loved watching him screw up all those half chances. Another snatch and grab on the road, I’m so over the moon with this young side believing in themselves and the guidance by Oli is the most influential in the league this season. So funny those Fox knobs can no longer just sledge us and actually have to acknowledge we are good again. You can hear the pain in their voices.

Top 6 stories on fox after that are all premier league. They've updated the ladder but no acknowledgment of the win otherwise. They're even showing half time drills in a wleague game with no audio over talking about the game just played.......

All caught up on my recording so haven’t read the thread yet, will go back soon.

At 6pm if you offered to split the points I would have taken it, not because I thought it was beyond us but I wasn’t sure we’d be able to score the 2 that you would often need against Sydney. First goal we copped a break after one went the other way against the wanderers. Second we earned through perseverance.

Only thing I’ll be particularly critical of is I don’t think Bouman and Matty is a good pairing, too similar and they need a hungry Smylie or Kuol to feed and create chances. Speaking of Smylie he had a better showing after going missing a bit last time.
DDS ran himself in to dead ends a bit lore tonight but suspect that was due to little else being on. Had a decent game otherwise and important defensive shift.
Overall I think we need to be better at recognising the counter moments to push and when to hold up, haven’t got that balance quite right yet but that will come with more confidence IMO.

MOTM Tongyik. Wanted to give it to Bozanic who was solid but Tongyik was everywhere at the back when needed.

Supposedly interviews etc on Fox Sports News, but nothing,nada,zip,zilch. ?

Just finished watching it. My lord, what a game. First half we were a bit all over the shop, Stens mishit a pass, Nizz went for 5mins without touching it, DDS turned into a gordian knot. Got much better as we went along, second half was unreal.

Ruon, Stens, Ollie, Rowles, DDS, great. Everyone really. I reckon Birraz had a cracker tonight. Didn't put a foot wrong, some huge saves, and you could see he wanted that clean sheet. Ahhhh so good.

This is why hanging in through the tough times and not walking away is so important. The highs are proportional to the lows. Any other club would be happy with this start. We are rightly ecstatic.
Dare I hope that history can repeat? I am getting a season 1 feeling when everyone had picked CCM for the spoon.

Staj. Perfection. You made a monkey out of Corica. "Sir Alen" from now on.

Birraz 8.5 So cool, so brave. Distribution top notch as well. Clearly a better keeper than Redmayne.
Nigro 7.5. Very solid game.
Rowles 8. Impressive reading of the game. Top effort.
Tonyik 9.5. Created a goal and was everywhere. He was a Rock at the back. MOM.
Clisby 7.5. Really good game.
Bozanic 8.5 Could have had a couple of Goals. He was everywhere and is so composed on the ball. Always shows and always wants it.
Stens 7.5. Very good game overall. Tough as teak.
De Silva 8. What an incredible workrate. Brilliant fitness and put in 100%.
Nizzy 7.5 Also worked his socks off. I love this player.
Bouman 7.5 Much better in this game as he was more aggressive and probing. Superb ball in for the opener.
Simon 8.5. A very intelligent and underrated player. Kept his cool to after the booking.

Subs.

Kuol. Super impressive again.
Smylie. Very good shift. Made the 2nd goal with his tenacity.
Casella. Very bad give away but we know he is quality.
Hall. Looked assured. Great debut.
