ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New Owners?

Big news there about Helou. Supposedly expecting to announce the transfer in Feb.
There’s something about this bloke that worries me. Ah well, saying the right stuff.

If he does what he says he will then i think we'll see a lot of fans return. I've got mates that want to come back but refuse to as long as MC is around.

Who says there is not a Santa Clause.
Kinda f**ked up for him to announce that Staj and Shaun are gonna get fired before he even owns the club
I think you missed the word "possibly".

I would say that when he takes over he is going to expect results and demand top quality performances in all aspects of the Club's performance.

Hopefully those that we know and love will be able to meet his standards.

There has been too much amateur stuff in the top grade of football in Australia for too long. Hopefully he will be the one to start the fire.

He will make plenty of enemies like anyone wanting to change things.

I am prepared to strap in and enjoy what could be a thrilling, if scary ride.

I agree, and realistically this season is make or break for Staj regardless of what the owner situation is.
- He had the back end of Mulvey’s season to get to know the club and the team, no expectations there.
- Last season we couldn’t do enough to get past a horrible Victory or late blooming Jets side. Copped an absolute flogging from WU as well. I think we all expected a bit more from that season than we ended up getting.
- Going in to second full season and he’s had whatever chance he’s going to get to move the squad in the direction he wants and all contracts others than possibly DDS have been renewed or signed on his watch. Some off field issues resulting in delays getting that team on the pitch but if it doesn’t fire I can’t see Staj being here in June. We have to be competitive and dodge another spoon, if he can’t deliver us 11th at least then maybe a change is needed. My realistic goal is 9th and some distance from the spoon conversation.

Yowsers. The article had a lot of direct quotes though, & it appeared the deal was set-in-stone. Interesting.

I see the world game article now mentions the clubs view that this has not progressed as far along as Helou claims. All very interesting.

. all very interesting

. Abdul seems to think he has a deal - even stating he has put money down ... sorry one potential bidder appears to have made statements regarding a potential sale which intimate that a deal has progress to a point of confidence considering that some financial consideration has already been determined and/or outlaid
. the Club's statement hosing it down tries to paint a different picture (my :tinfoilhat: made me notice the incorrect name spelling). i can't help but get the feeling somebody thought they had a deal but somebody else decided the deal was still negotiable and is changing the conditions* - the statements about fans having had enough of the current ownership encourage that thinking (certainly stirring the pot ... and the fans are the best pot to stir)

. regardless ... it doesn't present well

* not progressing to the FA approval and due diligence stage should not negate the possibility of a deal having been done 'subject to regulatory approval' ... surely this is how these things always happen

IMO it’s good to hear something appears to actually still be in play. Perhaps the Club did not want it out as the staff mentioned may become very disheartened and rightly so. Agree it’s not a great look and someone is stretching the truth. Who will come out eventually. The Helou article shows he at least understands the Clubs current issues.
