The formula for the growth in infections is the fibonacci sequence 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34 etc. Thats why the graphs of case rates are so uniform. Pretty clever for about 1170ad or therabouts

I was out and about yesterday as I was working. Pathology courier, so had to work really.
The number of people sat outside the old Woy Woy pub way too close together.
Saw a couple of women meet & greet with a hug and kiss.

My partner briefly nipped into Woolies today. She said there was tape on the floor to mark out how far to keep apart at the tills.
People were totally ignoring it. Same in the chemist the other day. I was being served and a couple of women came and stood right next to me.
Even brushing my arm. Needless to say I had something to say. They didn't like it.

Its getting unreal state boarders being closed, armed police at the boarders and hurling people off beaches ... international travel almost outlawed, libs splashing cash to the poor the same thing they slammed Rudd for and said even two weeks ago they would not do...

The following vid shot at French's Forest, back in 1975, captures perfectly a far more innocent time, when kids went out and played in the street until dark .... long hair, the guy in the red sloppy joe reminds me I had a similar sloppy joe and jeans....

I went to Killcare beach today. I thought it might be packed as the Sydney beaches were closed.
I was prepared to turn around and come home. But I got a parking spot and wandered down.
Busier than usual with a lot of blow ins. Not the usual crowd. Had a chat with the life guards who said it was busier in the morning.
Went for a walk, keeping a safe distance from everyone of course.
Meanwhile my partner had taken our kids to Umina / Ocean Beach. I'd rather she hadn't but they had some IRB training stuff to sort.
She said Umina was packed and it was causing an issue with the 500 limit.

I have had 5 clients who work in the entertainment industry loose all work for he next few months all have asked me to see if anyone has any work to let them know...

But it got me thinking, lots of small business folk, and many subies are going to struggle for cash and work... many don't handle it all that well especially men who bottle it up..

So any poster who has an issue feel free to have a whinge on hear no one is going to shred you and sometimes its good to get things off your chest...

Many could have written the above better and please do... but if things start getting to you .. maybe hear is a good place to start or share an experience... and remember there are agencies like lifeline and beyond blue out there to help as well...

I'm in isolation - I found out about my confirmed contact 9 days after I actually had contact; fortunately I don't have any symptoms otherwise who knows how many I could have infected in that timeframe.
People find it surprising that being in contact isn't enough for me to get tested - or that my wife doesn't have to isolate

The problem is that it is not 'just like the flu' - it is much more contagious than that - plus we are not doing enough testing.

With flu 1 person affects on average 1.3 other people. If that cycle continues 10 times then 14 people are infected. With this virus it is much more like 3. Repeat that 10 times and 59000 are infected.

It took 67 days to go from one reported case to 100,000 cases
Then it took only 11 days to reach 200,000 cases

Man, my wife got exposed to Covid by those muppets they let off the Ruby Princess. 5 days ago and the airline just contacted her today.
Obviously, keep well Capn.

I really don't get why your wife doesn't have to isolate. Surely (well I presume) you had contact with her around the same time.

I went to the doctor today at Erina to get a flu jab and some scripts as i was told you need a script for Ventolin now. The Doctor didn't even take my temperature or look in my mouth.................WTF.....but he zapped the top of my ear in case i had skin cancer lol.

Could the medical profession in NSW be any more unprofessional. Its like we are trying to out Italy the Italians. I'm told people have turned up to Wyong hospital to be tested when they or family members have JUST GOT BACK FROM OVERSEAS and if they haven't got a temperature they are not testing them. Take about false economy!

Thanks all. Only 2 days left - finding out at day 9 put it to a brief period. At least I can still go out for walks, and I was already assigned to work from home (and I'm back at uni anyway, which was an online course)
I guess they figure the odds of me actually catching the virus are still quite low despite me being in contact. If my wife was to isolate, then so would everybody else who has been in close contact with me - ie basically shutting down my workplace.

Though I personally think that's what should happen. Don't just isolate the people in close contact with a confirmed case - isolate those who were in close contact with them too, I'm far from an expert but surely that would go harder in limiting the spread. Because as it stands, if I do get sick, then I've already spread it - and then if anybody I was in contact with gets sick, they're already spread it.

Ugh, that sucks. All the best to you and your wife. Yeah, those cruise ships were handled so badly - they should have been straight-up quarantined.

got mine yesterday at a chemist to avoid the sick at the doctors. This chemist has shut the entire shop and are only doing scripts and flu shots that are online booked.
Had all staff in masks and smocks. Made me disenfect my hands before letting me in for the shot.
they are really looking out for there staff and business.
they had two desks across the entry and some many signs. Saying scripts only and eftpos only.
So many idiots walking past staring at what they are doing and then keep asking can i buy panadol etc.
all the advice and advertising in the world can’t make up for the fact there are idiots in the community
