Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Ya know, Simmo cops a lot of flak from a lot of fans, understandably but l thought that was his best game for us in a long time. Came on at the right time, caused chaos in the box and winning headers in good areas and then was calm and composed to slot away 2 vital penalties to give us a massive win. He bullied the defence and they folded. That is how we should be using him. Well done Staj for a perfectly timed sub.

Most insane end to a match I've seen in a long long time. Can't question Matty's passion for this club. Absolutely stoked we got the 3 points!!! :vhappy:

Don't look on the whirlpool forum then. He's a thug, worse than Muscat.

The more the Victory players whinged the more I enjoyed that win. Exciting stuff and we deserved something out of the game and put the three points in the bank. Shame only 5,000 watched it live. How often do Refs get standing ovations at the end of a CCM game. We forgive the early Pen decision. Wish Kye got the goal he deserved it.

hahaha, there's one idiot on there who absolutely despises Simon with a passion. Even moreso than the rest. So that makes this whole thing absolutely hilarious. Usually that place is just a MV circlejerk though

The whinging from Kruse and Nabbout was absolutely amazing. And the travelling Victory supporters who had acted like a bunch of clowns and seeing them leave as we won the game was highly satisfying.

Well when I got home I read this forum and was feeling so elated I had to have a look. I thought Chuckie would be in meltdown.
I wasn't disappointed. :overheadl:
normally I've blocked that wankstain, but I don't have that add-on on this computer, though I don't give that idiot the satisfaction of a response. Hilarious watching him self-destruct though.
The attitude of him and one of the others are definitely part of the reason why the Melbourne Defeat are my 2nd most hated team.

That, and the rest of their dickhead fans, and Muscat all those years.

what happened with them??

When the Rowles goal got ruled out, they charged over to the edge of the bay giving it to our fans who were just celebrating the goal like anyone would. They celebrated their goal doing the same thing giving it to our fans who AFAIK didn't do anything to provoke them. It's not a massive deal really, it was just satisfying to see them slump out of the ground while we were going crazy. It's f**king nice to be celebrating a win in our stadium. Too many times have we lost at home and the away bay celebrates. Not this time!

Great night on the bet:
- Dobras first goal scorer at $15
- Mariners draw HT, win FT at $9
- Rowles anytime scorer at $12 (ruled offside but then scored an oggy)
- Missed Stensness anytime yellow at $3.90.

And a Mariners win above all.

Deserved at least a point. Absolutely pumped first half but dominated second half. Dodgy penalty at the end should have been given earlier so it evened up.

Wow what a finish.Birra would have been the most relieved man on the pitch as it wasn't his greatest game but in view of the family tragedy understandable. The second penalty did look soft but so be it.
I was sitting in the stand above the Victard fans-they were sooking at the end-great to see :pirashoot:.

This win has come at the best time possible going into games that actually feel possible!

Even away games feel a lot more comfortable. Well done guys!

Also our 4th win of the season, now officially 1 more than last year and stil half the season to go!!!!

How many wins and draws can we get out of the next 5 games.

He was immense. That's how you go out with a bang. He gets my 3 points even though he was just a sub. Kim 2, Milan 1. We'd be easy beats without them.

With Oar, did a great job getting up and down the pitch and though not a defender offers so much more than Clisby. Great runs and link play but we need better crosses from him, not floated balls going past the back stick.

DeSilva for mine is struggling to make the right decisions out there and takes far too many touches. Needs to play simpler and a lot more direct, and use his feet when he has to, just like Milan.

I thought Muzz played probably his best game for us and is clearly improving. He and Jair look to play off each other quite well I think and there's some hope in the partnership there, but it still needs a tweak. As Mick said at the game, Murray up higher as the target works better imo.

Cons... 352 is leaving us easily exposed by fast play and long balls. Victory could have put the game beyond reach if they were better and more clinical.

But there's a lot of positives. Great spirit and that urgency should be used when games are zero zero, not just when we're behind. Got to be good for team morale.

And what a ride. Great to finally have that kind of Mariners game day experience again at last. And watching the Victory ultra's drown in their own tears was f**king poetry.

Big win at an important time as you say. Roar in particular will be an important game to put some distance on the bottom of the ladder. We’ve equaled last seasons points tally with that win.

I was critical of bringing Matty on and don’t feel like he offered much outside the penalties but he stepped up and converted twice when we really needed it so I give him credit where it’s due. I don’t like how readily we go to him chasing goals though.
I felt DDS needed to be subbed for Silvera earlier as well.

I've been saying all season that AU aren't as good as their ladder position makes them out to be - and they're starting to get found out.
3 wins out of those 5 is definitely doable. fewer than 2 wins should be considered completely unacceptable. 2 wins and a draw, I feel should be the bare minimum, but we should want to pick up at least 9 points out of those 5.

We can actually start winning a few on the trot here.

I mentioned to style cafe if it was time for DDS to take a breather.
