ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Rd 12 - NYE vs Perth

I think we are a better team then we have been in years. And it's in us to win this.
But Perth are heavy favorites for a reason and a loss certainly hurts our position on the ladder but wouldn't be the end of the road as long as we do pick up points against some of the other teams we should beat

Yeah this for me also.

Agreed. Active support needs to be an organic thing. Can’t force it, but if we work together it would look a lot better for our club.

HHHHMmmmmmmm

For a reason I fail to understand myself I have been watching the MLS management by both their governing body and club management.

They I mean MLS management & Club Management understand the effect that "active support " brings... they actually work at it and hold regular meetings ....

We have never had a huge active support group and that it splintered reflects IMO poorly on past CEO's.

Shaun, you should play or take an proactive position and try and build some bridges and maybe that means giving away some free beers and shirts ...

By way of contrast listen from, 3:12 ...for a bit and listen to the CEO of Atlanta talk about active support and how well respected they are and how clubs go out of their way to help...

I believe we should finish the conversation over in the Active Support thread.
But shaun has stepped in, a meeting was held. The 3 groups discussed ideas for the upcoming season (including Newy away) so there are things coming up! But I agree the 3 groups CC16, OSC and the YA should have constant meetings with the club about game day experiences when it comes to active.

-- edit --

I reckon we are specials. I'd keep the same side as last week and if we can lift our tempo we can run them around and create chances.

Us by 2 but no clean sheet
I wish I was this positive, so far after our two wins the next game we haven't played very well so history is against us this season. At least we had a good 8 day spell after the AU game. If we manage a draw I would be pretty pleased and this keeps our home record still looking respectable.

Hope a decent crowd shows up.

With no injuries it seems that Melling and McGlinchey have fallen down the pecking order and Shabow and Majok are struggling for game time.

I can't believe that they will all be here after the January window - particularly with Macarthur FC looking to build a squad.

He could be joining a couple of ex-Mariners at a Newcastle PL club.
He’s just shy of 33, wouldn’t you go for a gig in a lower Asian league or something? I’m expecting him to ride his deal out unless we’re prepared to pay him out or he has something already lined up.

He was at The Carols in the Stadium before Christmas with his young kids. Have to say he looks very fit.

“Sure he’d love to come back” riiighhht. After he became a WSW member, and then a jets member, and actively worked to cut ties with anyone involved with CCM - I highly doubt it.
Fish is the guy with the big emblem tat yeah? Can't believe he actually paid for membership at another club. Twice. Wow.

Disappointed to hear that, but good to hear why I haven't seen Fish around in ages.
Sorry, but a true fan does not swap allegiances due to management personnel changes. You support your local club (well team more than club probably for most of us, given MC’s stewardship since he took over) pure and simple. If CCM ever folded, I don’t think there is any way I could become a supporter of another club, as it would just feel like a betrayal personally.

Be angry at the club when it drops the ball (as it undoubtedly has on numerous occasions) but always back the team at the end of the day.

I wasn't suggesting I was happy about Fish leaving. I simply meant that I was glad to finally discover what actually become of somebody I'd always see at games, home or interstate. Neither can I relate to the idea of swapping allegiances due to management or personnel changes. If that were the case, I would've turned my back when we hired Reddy!
