I have an old friend who supports Brisbane and Leeds, and in the early years of this decade he reckoned Leeds were the reality check that stopped him getting a swollen head. In more recent seasons I told him my life following LFC and CCM was the direct inverse of his- but today has been a most excellent Sunday of football I must admit...

The best part - Jest are now last!

Loved how the camera and commentators focussed on that Jets sadsack in the Adelaide bay. Gold!

It is refreshing to see players like Miller and Silvera introduced slowly around experienced players in a more positive atmosphere.
(Rather than the we have nothing to loose mentality that we are used to)

It will pay massive dividends over next 2 years as they become starting players allowing more spend on the experienced players and in-turn increase the quality of our visa (5) and top aussie (4).

let’s keep the ball rolling

I thought Lewis Miller was immense tonight. The kid was terrific.

Yep its pretty amazing how well he is doing especially because he is playing out of position. I think you mentioned in another thread a little while ago that Sainsbury didn't really set the world on fire when we tried him at RB but when he started at his CB his quality shone through. For a natural CB like Miller to do so well at RB and then at RWB today when there is so much more emphasis on attack speaks volumes about his potential for us for the future.

We need to hope other do not see how good Stensness is or we won't be able to afford him.
Miller, the same.
We’ve extended Stensness for 2 more years. Hopefully we can lock Miller up ASAP as well. It makes sense for him to stay here where he will get minutes under Staj as long as we don’t try some scholarship low balling bs.

Very happy with us tonight. We were easily the better side.

Birraz. 7.5. Brilliant. I'd like him to sign a 5 year contract right now.
Oar. 7.5. Excellent. Loved him at LB.
Rowles. 7.5. Superb. Will play for Australia at this rate of improvement.
Ziggy. 7.5. What a fantastic signing. I love this player.
Miller. 8. I rated this kid the first time I saw him play. Easily his best game and the mistakes are disappearing as he grows in confidence.
Kim 8. Outstanding player.
Stens 7.5. Passing is the only weakness. Superb engine and intelligent player
Duric 7. Superb goal.
DDS 8. My MOM. The best he has played all season. Sublime at times.
Jair 7. Good game. Our balance is so much better with him in the side. I think he will score next week.
Muzza 5.5. Great work rate. Poor finishing

Staj 8. Great work Boss.

I’ll put in my two cents.

Duric was excellent. Anton clearly doesn’t know football if he thinks this guy is two old. Yeah, he got the goal, but he’s just a confident player on the ball and a highly skilled and versatile player. We really benefit from his presence

Danny looked OK, but someone needs to tell him not to muck around with it so much. There’s such thing as over complicating it.

Murray was on a new level tonight. He’d be lethal if he could finish

Jair has clearly got the potential to thrive in that role. I was impressed in what he was trying to do, the execution just wasn’t there. If he finds that match fitness I think that top two could do some real damage.

Stensness looks like another great pickup. A Staj special if you will.

Kim, again, unbelievable. His versatility and experience is an invaluable asset to us.

Ziggy looked great. Again.

Oar fits that role well. As long as he’s attacking and happy, we’re good

Miller. Jesus.
Matthew who?
Who said we needed Matt Millar? The kid shows great skill across the board. I’m going to allude to what others have said, he’s quality.

While we were great, Adelaide just weren’t up to scratch. Whilst I don’t think not having Opseth is a detriment, it goes to show how important Riley McGree is to them. They lacked the intensity in the middle to put pressure on us, which led to the second goal. I think Troisi was trying to play the McGree role, but it wasn’t the same and it shows on the score line.

How was that Halloran goal not called back? Swear the guy pulled Kim’s arm

Get a contract extension in front of Milan ASAP. What a goal. The best pure striker of a football we have had in a long time. Played well throughout and his goals from midfield are vital.
