R11 v Adelaide

Brilliant win. Adelaide stepped up but we held very strong. Muzz showed big improvement and was genuinely unlucky not to score or set up Jair.
Clisby won’t be playing for awhile I reckon.

3: Miller
2: Milan
1: Jair

Won't get the credit they deserve, but I thought Gowles and Ziggy were both excellent tonight.

Bloody hell it's good to be back in the winners circle again!!!!:overheadl:

Lol Miller is an intense young man. Doubt he’d be the life of the party, but he played exceptionally well tonight. Lost the plot a bit at the end, but he’ll be fantastic for us as he goes on.

Stensness will be pushing for player of the season if he keeps going like that, he’s consistent, tough, smart. Really good to see. Jair already proving his worth, a couple more games and he’ll be purring. Duric, amazing of course. I reckon DDS was best out there until he got tired. He was everywhere, always making something happen. If he could shoot, he could play at the highest level.

All up, good game, was terrified we’d lose, but hell yeah Merry Christmas from the boys :)

The best part? We dumped Jets on the arse end of the table :D

Bloke who called 2-1 pre game was right.

My only complaint is when we got tired we crept back to long ball and invited a lot more pressure. I would have liked to see Ziggy or someone tell Birraz to settle down on the long goal kicks.

Huge win and big performance.

Wowsa...We done alright , I picked 3-1 but you can’t have everything...as for a MoM, I’m going for young Lewis Miller ,just smudged Kim and Milan...just

Not a perfect performance. Second half we tired and there was too much space in the mids. Also we need to take, and also make, more of our chances if we want to consistently challenge the top sides. But that first half was the best football side we’ve seen in what 5 years? So many positives.

For given periods I could have given 3 points to most of our side. Was not a bad performance on the park tonight I thought.

I have to give 3 to miller for such a great game for a young player.
Milan’s goal and class was crucial - 2 points.
Most deserve at leas a point but I’m giving it to Rowles for a combination of great defending and scoring.

Ziggy was also immense tonight I thought.
Kim’s first half was Bloody stellar. Ran the show,
Jair showed pace, skill and heart. Very happy with his contribution.

Kim worked his arse off going between centre back and attacking mid.

Although Miller was heart and soul in it,
Kim takes my 3 points for a very strong, low errors and calm in key moments.

Murray despite loose passes and some bad decision making does a lot of work off the ball and was probably still key to a lot of the attack in general.

But massive effort pretty much from every single player!!!

Kim was my three points. Thought Stensness was outstanding as well as Oar in a unfamiliar left back. Those were my top three but so many players in the mix.

I thought Murray did OK tonight. It seems like he was more confident.
Maybe playing with Jair did it.

I voted for Miller. But Stensness was excellent. As others have said Kim in the first half was superb.
All round great performance.

Tough but deserved win.Excellent team effort and difficult to pick MOTM.I have been a bit sceptical of the hype around Miller but he was immense tonight.Surprise to see Murray and Jair starting but they did stretch the Adelaide defence-pity Murray is not up to A League standard as a striker but he does work hard.Kim and DDS blotted Troisi out of the game and Rowles and Gordon hardly let young Toure a touch of the ball.Oar gave a great display of wing back play.Stensness is a tough nut but some of his passing is very average.Duric is skilful and is a great striker of the ball-excellent technique for young players to see.Kim was brilliant in the first half-such a good organiser and presence.

Loved bay 16 giving it to their keeper with singing Izzo songs to him. Great win, shaky in the second half at times but they dug deep. Well done boys and thanks for the Christmas present.

Kim was great and now fit is starting to boss games. Miller played a great game as well for so early in his career. Good to see Milan getting back to the Milan we love and a great goal. Wasn’t a poor player out there tonight.

Kim, man of the match for me, his anticipation is awesome and his organisation is better.
I will disagree with most here so far and say Oar was wasted as left wing back. worked his butt off but is more of an attacking player than a defender. We need a left full back.
The back 3 are there to stay. Ziggy was just a little behind Kim for MOM. He also showed that he has pace, we just don't see it when he has the ball. Definite centre half now, no longer a fullback.
Milan, along with Kim showed his experience. I nominated his goal well before the corner was taken. I can imagine the negotiations going on:
Milans agent: "He is worth more Money."
Anton: "he is old"
Milan: "Cop that and open your purse."
We need to hope other do not see how good Stensness is or we won't be able to afford him.
Miller, the same.
I loved DDS's work rate and drive, but he needs to get his head up and look for support sooner than trying to do it all himself. He needs someone with him to play "one two" passes. I suspect Nissy could be the answer. Time will tell.
I would have liked to see Murray and Jair switch earlier. Jair looks like a dangerous striker and has all the instincts. Both look more threatening than anyone else in our team up front.

I thought the team burnt too much energy early. I liked the all out attack but there appeared to be too much nervous energy used. Need to let the ball do the work more and flow.

Still improving and still plenty of improvement left in the squad. There is so much more improvement possible with better understanding and more confidence. Loving the commitment shown by all.

Back on the road again at last.
