Saturday night 7:30pm at Central Coast Stadium.

Difficult to get a read on how this will go - Jets having the R1 bye and all.

I think the 4-2-3-1 looked good for us.

The first line of 3 niggles and tries to steal and if they fail can be picked up by the 2 DM’s.

And then if they fail we have the line of 4 which Ziggy and Clisby still seem to have been told to stay at a 45 degree angle even before we have got possession back, which is dangerous.

* But overall I would stick to this formation and give Murray another chance or 2.

* Simon to come on for Murray or DDS/Oar at 75 minutes.

* Oar is to high up the pitch to direct the team as a Captain.

* If Ziggy isn’t contributing much in attack he should hold strong and direct the team as captain I believe.

* Silvera to come on at 70min until he is 100% fit again, don’t think we should risk it yet.

* Duric can sit with GG/Stensness/Kim when Silvera does start games again.

(Sorry think posted in wrong thread before)

I agree - this should be our first win of the season. We have been very good and I assume will be improving.

Was he injured - it sounded more like Staj wants to ease him into competitive matches

Staj confirmed post match that silvera did have a niggle since the cup semi.
I’d say he’ll start. I’d like Kim in from the start but I don’t think he will.
GG got better after his shaky start and will be much better for the minutes so there’s some hard decisions for Staj this week.

Murray shouldn’t be crucified for not getting the 2 goals he should’ve so I’d keep him starting and hammer some of the most basic constant finishing drills all week long into him.

I think Murray would benefit from the faith more than anything. Start him, build him up, trust his gut, keep making the chances and bang a couple in.

Super keen for this game and we should be able to beat them especially with their injury woes. Will be a nice confidence boost before the upcoming rounds if we can get it done.

Also we’ve got the Rd 3 bye so will be interesting to see who Staj chances if we aren’t sure they’re ready. Kim and GG probably the main question marks for that

Not me. One of my sons has played at a high level which has given me a soft spot for Union.

Never encouraged him to pick it up given I’m football mad, but he just gravitated towards it on its own. Respect has to be given to the physical and mental toughness of the high level players i think.

Oh sure, don't have a problem with those who like to watch it, it just doesn't appeal to me. Aussie Rules, OTOH, I'll watch that every day of the week, because I grew up in Tassie with our own local team and played myself as a junior until my eyes went bad. Then I had to choose a different sport, one less dangerous for spectacled players. So I chose hockey, where blokes run around hitting a cricket ball with lumps of 4x2 in their hands! :p

I've watched a bit of the Rugby World Cup and their TMO does my head in as much as the VAR. It is not that they get the decision wrong that they are looking at - it is what they don't look at.

Everyone needs to be on the lookout for a large Scots ex-coach having coffee with any of our players this week..... unless it’s Melling or Majok of course, in which case we should offer to pick up the tab ;)

At least Silvera is well out of his greedy reach. :headbounce:
