ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

WORST Mariner player ever ( this could get ugly)

In my time as a Mariner, since May 27th 2015, I would say Faty was the worst, he was unfit, had the pedigree and experience to be much better than he did. He simply didn't care and was there to pick up his pay check.

It hurts me to say this as I absolutely love him and he is a fantastic human being, I desperately wanted him to succeed but Dan Heffernan (English Striker) was fairly average.I never saw his hat trick in pre season against the Wanderers but in actual A-League matches he simply wasn't up to the standard, maybe he could have been if we had used him properly.

Ryan Peterson wasn't great in his 10 minutes of a game against Perth or in the pre-season game I saw against the Jets but it's pretty harsh to say he was anywhere near the worst considering he was such a young player. Playing NPL 2 with the Northern Tigers and now American college soccer after the stint with us might demonstrate his ability though.

Francesco Stella really struggled with us but had a couple glimpses of skill which made it all the more frustrating when he turned over the ball, he's a capable player and really should be at A-League level he can do fantastic things for the Port Melbourne Sharks sometimes.

Matthew Fletcher wasn't A-League standard, he put in one good cross I can remember however, he didn't last long at Manly afterwards though and it's hard to say anything positive after he was contentiously left on the bench behind a 35 year old Dylan Macallister.

Against "palm beach"?!

I guess the days of mediocricy when we could actually didn't lose to these sides i now take for granted

Wasn't it four goals?

Scored a 90th minute equaliser against the Scum also. Shouldn't in the worst category. Was actually quite a technicality proficient player.

Eddie Bosnar was not the best player we ever had but I don't think he deserves to be on a list of the worst.
I'll never forget that long range goal he scored against the jets.
Made them look like right muppets.

Remember that goal well. My grandson was the kid walked out with the scom goalie. We've always said since that Matt tied his bootlaces together.

For me it's Pellegrino vs McClenehan. While these two may not have been the least developed footballers to pull on the shirt, they got a fair bit of match time to do their work.

Pellie did some good stuff when he was with Perth (including a screamer against us, if my memory serves me right), but unfortunately his best was behind him by the time he came to us.

Was a Striker/Attacking wide.

Unbelievably played for Australian U/20's & was selected for initial Olympic Squad

Didn't Trott play 1 game for Australia u20 or u23?

Tipping the scout was in The Leagues playing the pokies when he made that recommendation

Oh sh*t...I forgot Pellers... What he lacked on the pitch though, he seemed to more than make up for in the culture/off-the-pitch stakes, soo...

Was McClenehan the young'un that we signed mainly for ACL the last year we were playing Pellers as well? I can't remember the dude's name, I think he played on the right wing and turned out to be absolutely useless.

McClenehan was too old when we got him. He had played overseas but was washed up and useless when we got him.

Porter was shite and made some of the worse mistakes I have ever seen in the flanks.
