Round 15 - F3 Derby #43, Scumdome

Newcastle fullback Daniel Georgievski says Mariners defender Josh Rose deserved to be sent off in the F3 Derby on Tuesday.
Rose was given his marching orders in the 72nd minute after picking up two yellow cards.

The Jets went on to win the match 2-0 against 10-man Central Coast, with Dimi Petratos and Patricio Rodriguez getting the goals in the final stages.

Georgievski believes the referee got it right in giving Rose his marching orders.

"They were clearcut yellow cards," he said.

"I wouldn't expect someone like Rose with all his experience to do silly fouls like that. Unfortunately that's a red card. It changed the game a little bit but that's not our problem - it's their fault. So it doesn't really matter.

"It was a red card regardless."

Former Victory man Georgievski was seen having words with Mariners coach Paul Okon at full-time.

The fullback explained it was after ex-Jet Andrew Hoole received a yellow card for throwing the ball at him.

"That's why me and Okon were having a few words," he said.

"I just said control your player's discipline - that's really it. Things like that happen in football, frustration. It's a part of the game, you just have to try and take control of that."

New signing Rodriguez bagged a goal on debut. Georgievski is expecting big things from the Argentine.

"It's very promising signs for Newcastle fans to see what he can produce when he gets fit," the 29-year-old said.

"He's blended in really well. Since he came in he's worked very hard to get fit. I'm very happy for him, he's a nice guy."

"Changed the game a little bit.." Yeah orrite mate, the fact that we dominated for the 60 minutes prior and then had to be defensive (except for roux, obviously), classifies as "a little bit".

f**k that guy is a dbag

Georgievski may well be a d....bag, but he's spot on with his comments on the yellow cards. Both incidents were clear-cut yellows, and the fault lies entirely with Rosey.

I have been a huge Josh Rose fan and I see him as a Mariners legend. But I agree with others that have commented on his lack of pace in the latter years. Fact is, he pulls players back quite frequently, and on this occasion he copped the consequences.

Georgievski comments "I wouldn't expect someone like Rose with all his experience to do silly fouls like that..." I am sad to say that I agree.

Agree, Hutch did it in a good old traditional Aussie banter kind of way. Very backhanded compliments. Wry smile. He took the piss. And he was clever. He didn’t just whine and act like a douche.

Best of all for me was that he took derbies personally. More than even a Mariner, he played them as a Coastie I think.

Be nice to have some more long term players fall in love with the coast and play here for a long time. And local boys with big phar lap style hearts. Here’s to you Matty Simon. Something has definitely been lost with the lack of loyalty and transient nature of players in the modern game.

TB...the Ref was a full on stooge. The Bogans only had to go...."ooohh" or boo on a decent challenge and he would blow the whistle and him and the linesman in front of us were f**king woeful in the 1st half.
