ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

So that thing with the ownership seems to be their line now - but then WTF was with the "Property of Central Coast Council" sign that they felt compelled to put up on the screen last year?
Is it just that a working screen belongs to them, and a broken one to CCM?

Good to hear re the pitch.

Story seems to change about the screen every few days. Can they offer a timeline regarding replacement?

I think it's a poor excuse re the pitch. Did we see any other pitch with sand all over it? Just poor timing by the council and shows that its not a priority. As for the screen.........well.

Hey guys.
How is everyone? Haven't posted in long time but without other social media these days I'm just looking for assistance on how to get a customised jersey?
The club answered via emailed that they don't have and aren't planning on giving the service.
Had anyone got this seasons strip with players name and number? If so how'd you achieve it?
Thanks,
Jp.

Obviously cool with this to be moved to a more appropriate thread is there is one @mods?

Cheers Scott.
I had a quick email exchange for the club today in which they said they have no plan to provide the service.
Rebel sport is. My dollars to them and not the club I guess.

Yep it's actually talked about at length in this thread if you want to go back a few pages. Shaun explained that it was not financially viable for the club to provide the service due to where the money goes and rebel is the only place you'll get that done. Unfortunate but understandable.

Ahhhhh! Thanks for the clarification and info Scott.
Will be making a trip to Rebel this week.

On another note,
I guess fair weather fans say it all the time but I've been there since day dot. Went to every home game first season and travelled a few times also but moved overseas before season two for a couple years.
I've lived in Sydney since then and made it back for games when work has permitted.
I can honestly say this is the most excited I've been for a season since winning the GF!
Pretty keen to forget last week and start fresh this round!
Carn your Mariners!!!!

Got this today

Hi Scott. The tender for the screen replacement closes on the 24th October so would likely be awarded early November and we would anticipate the successful contractor will commence work in late November. Hope you have a lovely day.

The Central Coast Mariners are proud to be one of only three clubs in Australia to have its academy accredited with ‘2 Star’ status under a new Football Federation Australia (FFA) system designed to provide more high-quality coaching to a larger number of potential talented players.

Central Coast Mariners, Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers have become the first Hyundai A-League clubs to have their academies accredited with ‘2 Star’ status under a new Football Federation Australia (FFA) system designed to provide more high-quality coaching to a larger number of potential talented players.

The Mariners Academy represent the Central Coast from the under 9’s through to senior men and train locally on the Central Coast.

In addition to the male programs, the Central Coast Mariners Academy are also the only club of the three ‘Two Star’ accredited academies that have female programs from under 10’s to senior women.

The Central Coast Mariners Academy is made predominantly of homegrown talent with 86% of all players originating from a junior club right here on the Central Coast.

FFA CEO David Gallop says 2 Star accreditation of the first three Hyundai A-League club academies is a landmark occasion for football in Australia.

“The development of top tier club academies is a major focus of the 20 year Whole of Football Plan,” said Gallop. “Over the past 10 years our player development path has been very narrow. The approach we have been working on for the past couple of years is to put our Hyundai A-League clubs and National Premier Leagues clubs at the heart of player development with support and guidance from the FFA and our Member Federations.

“We are now seeing this become a reality,” he said.

Central Coast Mariners CEO, Shaun Mielekamp expressed his excitement of today’s announcement.

“This is a huge moment for our Academy and a testimony to the quality and dedication of everyone involved in player development at the Central Coast Mariners,” Mielekamp said.

“As we look to grow the program and keep raising the bar there is no doubt that the pathway provided for young players will only result in more talented kids getting opportunities that were previously not available.

“The Mariners have always, and will always, be dedicated to giving youth a chance which is why this announcement is so exciting,’ Mielekamp said.

Now all we need to the W League side.

I commented last week that I wondered how many fans would turn up to watch the boys on NYE, after the crowd's reaction to the VAR debacle against WSW. We now know that 9,100 turned up, the only time we've been below 10,000 for this event.

I did some (very cursory) research. I was stunned at how our NYE crowds have fallen over the years. I don't know how many fans we lost this year due to the VAR 'decisions', or if it is because we haven't been competitive, or perhaps it is in line with general attendances throughout the A-League etc. I'd be interested in the thoughts of others on this subject.

I've listed the figures below, taken from press reports of the games - note that some figures are estimates only.
2005 11,612
2006 >15,000
2007 18,686 Record attendance
2008 15,546
2009 11,137
2010 12,409
2011 ~15,000
2012 14,591
2013 12,919
2014 - Am I correct in saying that we did not have a NYE game that year?
2015 >10,000
2016 ~11,000
2017 9,110 Lowest crowd, in a year that Shaun, DDTMM & team have achieved record membership...
