ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners boss Arnold on Hibernian radar

CENTRAL Coast Mariners boss Graham Arnold is on the verge of being poached by Scotland's Hibernian but the ex-Socceroos boss insists he is ready to see out his three-year term.

Arnold revealed he would seriously consider a move abroad before his Mariners contract was up in 2013, but only if the offer was good enough to lure him away from Gosford.

Arnold last night confirmed an agent had approached him for a possible job in the United Kingdom after the Mariners beat Scottish giants Celtic 1-0 at Stadium Australia earlier this month.

"After the Celtic game an agent said 'would I be interested in working in the UK?'," Arnold said.

"I just said 'yeah of course'. I also said 'I've always wanted to work overseas but I've got a contract ...'

"I haven't had any contact from any club at all from over there."

Arnold also impressed Celtic coach Neil Lennon who praised the Mariners after their win.

Speculation in Britain yesterday pointed to Arnold taking the reins from Hibernian boss Colin Calderwood - after glowing references from Socceroos 2006 World Cup coach Guus Hiddink.

According to reports, Calderwood is set to join English Championship club Birmingham City to be No. 2 to newly-installed manager Chris Hughton.

It's understandable that he's attracting interest after his success with us, but I really hope he wouldn't leave us before his contract is up! It'd be worse than losing any player.
