ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Oh I still expect SFC to get preferential treatment and support over us. The argument will be they can go further in 2 than elite, but it'll be the usual bias

But the real point is that this year there is no real clash for SFC until the final that has to be catered for. They also have less games to play than we did.

Bit defeatist bro, did you see what our boys just did,
Not so much defeatist as realist.

It's one thing to towel up Bali, stallions Laguna and Odisha. It's a whole other ball game against Yokohama, Kobe, ulsan or pohang.

There's a reason why only 2 a-league clubs have made the final and we barely get teams (better funded than us) out of the group.

In a salary capped league that is broke, we just don't have the resources to be able to compete with teams backed by billion dollar corporations or funded as the play toy of royal families.

We dare to dream.....

When I was looking up ACL 2 (shortly after looking up match fixing this week) it came up with this

Look at the match days - they are very similar for the ACL2 and ACL Elite.

Real problem for ACL2 is the Final on semifinal weekend here. Real problem for the ACL Elite is the final stages in Saudi Arabia after Rd 25 up until the weekend of the Elimination finals.

So simple - we just have to play RD26 early and make the top 4 and we will have no problem.

The FA won't have to cater for Sydney making the Final as they have problems crossing the road - let alone going OS - just ask Courtney whine.

Big Al

I thought APL were reasonable this season and they couldn’t do a lot as we didn’t have much flexibility due to the amount of games being played.

The big issue we solved ourselves by finishing 1st and only the SFC semi 1 we were screwed on and we still won

These conspiracy theories belong in the dark recesses of Facebook. Does anyone really believe that the APL are:
a) Capable of a multi year conspiracy to do us down in favour of SFC
b) That no one ever let it slip
Never confuse ineptitude for conspiracy.

And that they would have passed up chances to square up our second leg of the semi if they were out to get us / help Sydney. If Sydney get more help than we did this season it'll be a recognition of the work we did and the importance of it. And I'd suspect we get treated the same if successful - but that's a much tougher hill to climb.

First Auckland game will be on the weekend of 19th October. Confirms no real change in season start/finish.
