ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Paraphrasing - A year ago, Olly hit the scene like a bomb, with 5 goals in 4 games. Their coach (Bernegger) was pretty stoked with him, and has likened him to Edgar Davids. Alex Frei (sports director at FCL) is also pretty happy with him and has offered to extend his contract (which was due to expire next year) - and double his wages (from around 750k Swiss francs to 1.5m Swiss francs). This was in response to interest from clubs from abroad (in the EPL and Bundesliga). However, he didn't want to sign an extension before the World Cup - because he felt the coach no longer had the same amount of faith in him, due to having spent a large portion of the end of last season on the bench. To make matters worse, he's picked up a back injury in a Europa League game last week and will miss several weeks.

Trent sure did look good holding the Super Cup trophy though. Great to see a new club doing so well in the Netherlands and great to see it with Trent.

I didn't see the game and the result wasn't good but I have seen a photo of the Socceroo team lining up against Belgium and half the team are Mariners! Including a debut for Trent Sainsbury:overheadl:

didn't sainsbury let in 1 of the goals:poo:

Not the way I saw it.

Collymore blamed the CBs for the first goal but really they were well positioned. Milligan (I think) initially lost the ball, Davidson got completely beaten. The ball came into the middle and Davidson came across and miscued the ball that would have been handled by the CBs. When the ball bounced off the cross bar Milligan came steaming out for no reason ignoring the ball and the player immediately to his right.

The second goal Milligan was marking the scorer. The attacker drew back and Milligan just left him alone.

Australia were shit and probably should have lost 5.0. Maty Ryan was good. The best of the ex Mariners.

Ryan, Wilko, Sainsbury, Herd and Leckie all had decent games

Davidson, Oar and Milligan were all poor. Jedi, Bresc and Cahill while not as bad still wouldn't or shouldn't have been happy with there games.

Herd, Leckie and Jedi all quite lucky to stay on the field

Bosnich, who is probably the most honest of the Foxtel pundits, rated our ex players....

Ryan 7
Wilko 5
Tesco 6
Jedi 5

The most puzzling thing for me is what does Ange see in Davidson.......he is a complete liability.
